Gerudo thoughts:
Given how hot it is in the middle of the day and how cold the night gets, it makes zero sense that the Gerudo are active all day long. They have to at least take something akin to a siesta because that's just how things wind up.
It would make a lot of sense then for Gerudo to not sleep all night either. Which was actually a really really common thing before industrialization. I could and have written actual papers on how industrialization changed what sleep schedules look like but I don't feel like re-writing it but pretty much it used to be that you'd sleep at some point, get up again in the middle of the night, then go back to sleep. Like second breakfast but for snoozing.
But with how cold the night gets in the Gerudo desert (and I maintain that Gerudo is the Gerudo word for desert I mean COME ON), the pattern for life naturally sort of split into four sections: a morning wake (from roughly 4 to 11:30), mid day rest (roughly 11:30-6pm), Evening wake (6pm to 10pm. Much shorter then the other periods, yes but cold hits different), and the night rest (10pm to 4am).
These times would vary depending on what you were doing and the season, and you don't necessarily *sleep* during the rests. Maybe you did mending, or cleaned, or something but you weren't out doing big physical labor at that time and you DEFINITELY don't travel.
Given all this there is likely a saying among the Gerudo that only Hylians try to travel at noon.
This all ties in with my (not abandoned!) fic "A Wolf in kings clothing" because it probably takes Ordon raised Twilight a good few weeks to adjust. He gets the reputation early on of being a little bit foolish by Gerudo standards because WHY is he trying to train at 2pm? The heat will soon hit in earnest. He's probably had to be treated for heat exhaustion more than once because it's a learning curve.
i think lawrence is kind of a slob, but it’s primarily because he’s depressed. he actually does value cleanliness quite a bit, but he can’t bring himself to actually be tidy because it takes too much energy/he doesn’t know where to start/he doesn’t deserve it. and yes he hates himself for his lack of motivation/trying and the filth stresses him out even more. so it’s a vicious depression loop of let things get bad -> i suck for letting things get bad -> i deserve the consequences -> things get even worse
MC would probably be up for helping him stay clean, but that’s such an insult, he can take care of himself!! (lol)
You guys see it too right
What's this? A rare original post?
Went to the ren faire as oot link. This was my first time trying anything which might be considered "cosplay." I definitely learned a lot, including how to work with EVA foam, and if I'd had more than *checks calendar* two weeks to make everything (green tunic, collar dickie, white sleeves, gloves, boot foldy-over-things, belt, hat, and painting ears) I'm sure it would have turned out better. Overall I had so much fun both making the costume and then interacting with people at the ren faire. My favorite part was that multiple busking musicians played Zelda music when I passed by (of course I had to give them big tips!) and one stained glass seller gave me a 3d printed Navi. Much fun, would do again.
ive been screaming crying eating drywall etc for the last 24 hours thinking about the mechanics of what sam and evan both did with their motive track bonuses. they both picked the ability that represents the thing they admire about the other that the other thinks they dont give themselves enough credit/space for. after theyve been growing closer and really checking in with each other. and they both made material improvements to that ability IMMEDIATELY. god.
didnt evan tell sam like, episodes ago that no actually she IS smart and clever and now shes up to what, a d10 in mind?
and EVAN jesus christ. rocketing up to a d20 charm after sam telling him time and time again that she sees him as he is and who he is IS loveable and good to be around and internalizing that he gets to just Exist rippling out into a wholly different flavor of magnetism from sam but mirroring her nonetheless. im Unwell.
and like, the fact that they both picked abilities the other had a d20 in to start with. they see the best in each other and see facets of each other that most people struggle to see and it makes them both materially better and more well rounded and im gonna make myself fuckin cry again.
i need to tell yall about the one-sided beef my cat (also named beetlejuice) has with this glossy photo print of will blum as beetlejuice where somebody has photoshopped his eyes to be yellow
she has ripped this photo from the wall every time I've hung it up so the only place he can be is on the blinds where she can't reach
