Kilgore Fort House Handwritten description on the back of the photo: "Old Block House, built by Robert Killgore, about 1790. At present (1920) owned by B.C. Dickenson. This house stands one and a half miles South-westerly from Nickelsville, Scott County, Virginia, and on the North bank of Copper Creek, about 100 yards from the ford of the creek and about twenty yards from the Gate City-Nickelsville Road. Photograph made in September 1920. "
