being a new hs fan, and having read the entire comic in a month, i have a few thoughts about the pilot:
IT WAS ACTUALLY PRETTY GOOD
i mean, it was. there were definitely a few weird things:
i'm glad they kept the narration! it was a little... bombastic? but it's good
everyone except rose felt slightly off for some reason. not sure why and it's probably just a pilot thing (i think jade was a bit too hyper? not sure.)
why did they say fuck so much lmao
all of the trolls appearing at the end was a lot. having a more subtle hint towards them would've been nice
but alsoooo:
the art was stunning. seriously, it was amazing
the music was also stunning

karkat at the end was really funny but made zero sense
other people will probably have other thoughts. these are also just initial ones lol
