nico knew that his actions weren’t exactly mature or in his own best interest, but he had never been one for making the right choice when it came to his feelings - and other people’s feelings. he and mickey had broken up months ago, but due to their lease and and nico’s funds (or lack thereof), he couldn’t move. the weeks after their break up were tense and awkward, and that only got worse when nico decided to start bringing home random guys. mostly to get a rise out of the other male. and it seemed to be working until one day when nico came back to their apartment to find half of the place packed and mickey standing in the living room. “what’s going on?” the answer was obvious - mickey was leaving. nico felt his heart sink and he locked the door behind him, tossing his keys on the table. “a-are you leaving?” he didn’t know how he felt about this. if mickey left, how was he going to keep up with the bills? sooner or later, he’d be kicked out and he’d have nowhere to go. he could barely keep up with his half of things. but that wasn’t even his biggest worry. his biggest worry was that he wouldn’t be able to see mickey anymore, which in retrospect sounded odd coming from an ex, but he still cared about him. he still loved him. he didn’t want to see mickey walk out that door and never come back - he wouldn’t be able to handle that.
