(Went for a Jack Skellington x Sally vibes for this.)
Skeleton: An internal or external framework of bone, cartilage, or other rigid material supporting or containing the body of an animal or plant.
'Double double toil and trouble.~ Fire burn and cauldron bubble.~
By the moon we gather here to celebrate this time of year.~
When witches fly and the dead arise, the zombies moan with glowing eyes.~
We gather around the Pumpkin's light, and party long into the night.~'
The music of the night gently flowed throughout and between the beautiful decorations wrapped around the hills of glowing jack-o'-lantern faces and dusty cobwebs. The way the stars lit up the surroundings and made the shadows beautifully dance against the ground. The way the smell of delicious soul cakes and sweet chocolate candy wafted through the air. The beautiful music mixing with the laughter of witches and talking of the trick or treaters around the whole place. It was almost like a dream. Everyone having a great time behind their masked faces, no one telling who they were or maybe that was all part of the game. The fun of not knowing who you were speaking too and being able to be your own person tonight. But maybe she wasn't meant to join the fun and laughter that everyone else seemed to be having. Being maskless and alone wondering the ghastly night was the fate of the girl in the flowing costume. Blindly walking and circles, moving around. The sounds, the smells, the atmosphere. It was starting to make her dizzy. Everyway she'd turn she would catch a glimpse of a man with dark eyes and a rattling of his very bones.
'Witches brew and bat wing stew.~ Come taste our punch and cupcakes too.~
So disguise yourself and your better half.~ Come around about seven for many a laugh.~
We will party long into the night til we're all blessed with second sight.~'
Very familiar dark eyes. Her dizzied mind knew not to be afraid or excited about the way it gazed and pierced her soul. The way he looked at her with those beautiful devious eyes. Promising only trouble ahead. Well maybe she was looking for trouble, her head was kept on a swivel, always looking around herself in the see of masked laughter. Sometimes she'd catch a glimpse of him all white as a ghost or a rattle of bones against the brush or maybe it was just her clouded emotional mind. At this point she didn't know if she was searching for him or trying to ensure she was far from him. But however she put it, the circles and laughter was starting to get dizzier and dizzier. She barely noticed when someone tall and with a wicked smile, bowed to her. Grabbed her hand. And lead her to dance. Maybe it was because she was temporarily blinded by the mask upon his face, or the swirls of the graceful dance they spun. But there was no mistaking those eyes. Perhaps she was crazy. Perhaps her dizzy mind was clouding any judgement. Maybe she was under some kind of spell from those red eyes. But when that face smiled at her-
She smiled back.
Over and over. Around and around the carousel run. Merry-go-round of laughter and devious serenity in the dizzying candlelights. Masked faces displayed with joy under the comfortable disguise of fabric. Faster and faster they cheered with laughter. Going circular motioned towards the echoes of harmonious chaos that was the music in the air. Happiness, happiness they cried. Come join in our ravenous scares for the dance. Join us in the beginning of the rising of dead and the delight of souls tonight in our gleaming disguises and beautiful fabrics. Forget about sorrows and troubles for tonight you belong to the music and madness of the motion.
Tensions no more. Hearts a light. Blood hitter than fire. Just all for this moment of herself in his arms and the eyes that smiled at her in the way she gazed doe eyed up at him. For the movement and motion of tonight was theirs to tear apart and put back together again. For the dead could waltz tonight as ghosts moaned, witches cackled, and skeletons rattled their bones in time with the urethral music.
