Words Of Affirmation From March Speaker Nicole S. Cooper
Be bold and be yourself. At the March General Meeting professional speaker and motivator, Nicole S. Cooper’s message was heard loud and clear.
The former real estate investor relayed her personal story, shedding light on her path from graduating with a degree in Information Technology to now coaching entrepreneurs. Along the way she learned about what made her unique and figured out how she could turn those qualities into assets.
Cooper stressed the importance of putting your personality, and the gifts it contains, to work for you. “A lot of times we don’t know how to bring our gift to the table,” Cooper said.
The first step comes from identifying your personality type. Cooper outlined four types, by color:
RED: Competitive
BLUE: Spontaneous
GREEN: Methodical
YELLOW: Humanistic
The next step is figuring out how to work with people of differing personality types, and how to bring out the best in each other. Cooper encouraged everyone to say, “I need help,” and to seek assistance from others whose gifts and strengths might be different than our own. By helping each other we can feel valued from using the gifts we have, and can work in tandem to achieve a goal.
Cooper emphasized that we must live to be confident, compassionate, curious, dependable, resilient, and enthusiastic. To get started each day on the right path, she recommended reading Hal Elrod’s “The Miracle Morning,” for inspiration and visualization exercises, and doing daily affirmations (available at her website http://thebuspodcast.com/).
Go out and be who you are.
