I was wondering about makeup... How would a a troll go about playing an instrument while wearing makeup? I know that you're not supposed to wear lipstick while playing a reed instrument but stuff and ARGH. Should I just wing it without lipstick or ...?

I would think that it would only alter the reed cosmetically, and not change it's function. I'm not versed in reed-instruments though, so it may have a 8igger impact than I realize.

If you're going to 8e a low8lood or close then it may not matter. If you aren't concerned with the color of the reed, you might try to get a food-coloring in your 8lood-color hue and stain your lips. You can just mix all the colors together for 8lack too. It might 8e the difference 8etween a waxy lipstick feel and a water-8ased stain. Even if it's all over the reed, it shouldn't feel any different than having it in your mouth anyway (though it will 8e more visi8le). Test it though!

For the color, take a small dish and mix your food coloring in it. Apply it with a q-tip. If you go a little over or when you're ready for it to come off, 8rush your lips when you 8rush your teeth.
