#thegaynors at #niggabeach enjoying their grandchild. Four years ago three teenagers from Montego Bay's affluent community referred to patrons at this beach as " niggas." I could only assume that because the beach is free and attracts everyone to its shores the "folks" from its "uptown" feel that the beach will attract "undesirables." Today is a day when Jamaicans congregate in groups to celebrate their independence. People from all over the parish drive miles to enjoy the beach, some coming for the first time this year. I figured my last day in Jamaica should be spent on "my" beach documenting the kinds of people I grew up around.
