WHY AM I PLAYING NIGHT JAR?!??!!?!
THERE IS A REASON I DON'T LIKE PLAYING SCARY GAMES
WHY AM I DOING THIS?!!?!!?!
WHY??!?!?!
Nightjar is back on form
Living on City Road means that Nightjar is always my speakeasy of choice - I feel lucky to have one within stumbling distance! However, I'd found the waitresses pretty surly the last few times I'd been, as if our >£100 cocktail bill and £15 tip had somehow been tight-fisted. I consequently went off it for a while, especially as the bouncers at the door were becoming increasingly rude too.
After a few months' hiatus, I heard they had a new menu so booked us in for another night of Edith Piaf (which is the first Wed of every month - advance booking essential). For those who haven't seen Anna Lowe in action, she is incredible. I am a huge fan of Piaf so I wasn't sure if she would live up to expectations. She did. Even more incredible is that, after chatting to her, it came to light that she doesn't speak a word of French! And yet she sings with the perfect Piafian twang. She also looks the part.
The waitresses seem to have been replaced by affable waiters, all dressed in the 20s attire, like something straight out of Gatsby. They were super helpful with choosing cocktails and not at all pushy - I recommend Sweat Dreams.
What's more, I finally got my hands on a pack of NJ cards (been asking for some for the last 2 years but they never had any!). All in all, a roaring night.
I can't wait to try out some of the original speakeasies in NY in a few weeks' time!
Night Jar
Argh, It is finally available in the US iTunes, but it keeps crashing my phone. I guess I finally have to upgrade my 3GS to get it to play.
I just cannot pass level 8 of The Night Jar. But I like it because every time I die he is just so sassy.
