Video Game Horror FanARTS 2024
Day 16: Night Manor
(UFO Soft, LX, 1988)
This almost forgotten game recently got unearthed in a collection of UFO Soft’s library. Game preservation is important!
UFO 50 ▸ Night Manor 2024 - PC
night manor kicks ass
specifically my ass. im going for cherry, i have a cog to find, an item in the sink i can't reach, and a wire with no apparent use. trying to avoid looking up the solution but im kinda stuck here
EDIT nvm got the cog. now i just need the code. convinced the magnifying glass has something to do with it but i cant put it together
EDIT2 okay got it. started watching a letsplay and the guy just stumbled upon both clues i missed lol. cool game
UFO 50 Nostring compilation 2
Kick Club, as I said, softlocks, though I can still get the Nostring. Block Koala on the other hand...
Also, Mooncat nostring is an illustrious achievement since text only appears when you get an egg, which is the end goal. It still technically works though.
I beat Night Manor!!!!
This one was so so so good; a short and sweet horror story, perfect for my final day work off before Halloween!! I like that I never really felt stuck, because the game always gave me some clue on how to solve every puzzle. It was honestly such a tight, brilliant work of art.
SPOILERS (potentially) but there were also a lot of easter eggs that I noticed (like a ufo flying across the night sky on the balcony). Little details like that kept the game interesting throughout every second.
As an aside, I'm getting pretty close with Block Koala, Avianos, and Velgress as well, so I'm not really sure which one of those I'll be completing next. We'll see! 8/50
again?
Holy shit it took me this long to realize that on top of all the other Party House references in Night Manor (UFO 50), it begins with the person driving saying like "I shouldn't have left the party angry, Amy was out of line" etc that's also referencing Party House and Amy! My headcanon now is that in Night Manor you play as a disgruntled wild buddy that got banned from one of the parties
