Angst? Fluff? Who knows for sure, but here’s this little thing I’m working on bc I can’t get the idea out of my head. (also disclaimer, i’m not completely done nightbringer yet, I’m stuck on lesson 6-3 as of right now, so I’m making an assumption about where exactly Simeon was staying within the HoL)
Also, no real mention of how you ended up back in the present bc I didn’t want to think too hard about it and that’s okay <3
gn!MC, established relationships for all scenarios.
...satan might slowly be making it into my top three after nightbringer... writing his section was so much fun.
part 2 with the dateables is up :)

You opened your eyes and immediately took in the sight of a familiar ceiling. One that your view of was always slightly obstructed by the leaves from the tree behind your bed. One with golden trim along the edges of the intricate swirls carved into it.
One that you thought you may never wake up to again.
Bolting upright at the realization of where you were, you checked to see if everything was the same as you left it, checked to make sure there were no signs of any angel’s belongings in place of your own.
When you were satisfied that everything was how you remembered it, you promptly pinched yourself to make sure it wasn’t any sort of dream.
“Ouch,” you muttered, rubbing gently over the skin.
Okay, so maybe it isn’t a dream, but it could very well still be a hallucination, or the effects of some curse or spell, right? Don’t get your hopes up, MC, anything is possible, so don’t get your hopes up-
You swung your feet over the side of the bed and stood up then walked to the dresser with all the knickknacks the brothers had given you during your time in the Devildom- your time. Not a time before they knew you, before they loved you. Proof of your existence, of their growth and affection towards you.
It wouldn’t all be sitting there if you weren’t back in the present. You knew that, but something was still keeping you from believing you were home.
If I really am back… they would be here with me, wouldn’t they? Do they not know I’m back?
You frantically searched for your D.D.D. and swore when you saw the crack on the screen. Thankfully it still turned on, but there was no way you were going to be able to call Solomon about your situation with how shattered it was.
You wondered if the sorcerer was back at Purgatory Hall or if he was with the others, explaining to everyone what had happened and how you got back. Or maybe he was still in the past, wondering where you went? You had no memories of how you ended up back in your bed, so maybe you could get him to tell you as well if he was around. But in order to get an explanation, you had to actually brave up and leave the comforting space you could finally call your own again.
So you looked at the door that would take you to the hallway and took a deep breath in. Before leaving, you pressed an ear against the door and tried to listen for anything to disprove what you were seeing. One last ditch effort at stopping yourself from becoming the butt of a sick joke.
But you heard nothing, so you turned the handle and made your way to anywhere you thought the brothers- your family, your home- might be.
You took note of how this House of Lamentation looked well lived in. It was easy to notice, if you were honest, all the quirks you had grown used to finally being back. Some had stories behind them that you had only heard, some you could tell because you took part in their creation. It was a stark contrast to the newly finished version of it you had spent the past little while in. It wasn’t so cold and empty despite seven new demons residing in it, this one had a soul. Pictures of the brothers lined the hallways, pictures with you included, everything felt so familiar and nostalgic that you couldn’t help but give in and believe it.
You were home.
And if that much was true, then it also meant that your lover, the demon that gave a different meaning to the word home- your version of him, the one that was ripped away from you when you got pulled into the past was somewhere nearby.
Even if he was close before, physically, it wasn’t the same. You couldn’t hold him there, seek him out for comfort (and boy did you need a lot of that right about now), sleep next to him, you couldn’t even look at him fondly without raising suspicion.
You were forced to suppress all of that love to complete a task that didn’t even guarantee your return to the present.
But none of that mattered anymore because all of it was positively flowing out of you now. You had so much time to make up. So you ran to all of the usual spots the brothers would hang out until finally you burst into a room and locked eyes with him.
Lucifer
The second you burst into his study he stood up, almost knocking his tea all over his desk. His eyes were wide and his face was paler than usual, as if he had seen a ghost.
You stood in silence for a moment, taking each other in from a distance before you rushed forward at the same time, not able to hold back any longer.
He didn’t say anything at first but the way his arms wrapped around you as if you’d disappear again if he loosened his hold even a little was enough for you. It was a side of him he rarely showed to anyone else.
Going from your Lucifer to the past version gave you whiplash- you were not prepared to have any of them go back to being so cold, but having the warmth of his love ripped away from you hit ten times harder.
You finally let the stress you had been bottling up flow out of you and you leaned your entire body weight on him. He picked you up and brought you over to the couch, positioning the two of you to be more comfortable.
“I’m back,” you whispered into his neck, letting the tears flow freely.
“You’re back.” he confirmed, and you felt something wet fall onto your cheek from above.
You didn’t let each other go for the next hour. His brothers could wait, he decided after some thought. He was desperate to just exist with you once again.
Mammon
He looked at you for less than a second and launched himself at you before any of the others even had a chance to react.
You yelped as he nearly tackled you with a big hug. He was laughing joyously, but you could feel how he trembled once he was in your arms. You probably weren’t much better based on how you completely melted into him and ended up on the floor, still intertwined.
When the others finally caught up with what was happening in front of them, they piled on on top you and greeted you with too much fervor for Mammon’s liking. He said nothing and let them have their moment, because with one glance at you, he knew you were thinking the same thing- Later.
So once you stood up and answered their questions, reassuring them that you were physically fine, his younger brothers all started arguing over who you’d be spending time with first.
Mammon’s sin took over and shut that argument down pretty quickly, however, when he gently took your arm and began leading you out of the room. At the sound of the others telling him to come back, he turned around and gave them a look that silenced them immediately. His gaze was leveled and his eyes were nearly glowing with greed. You shivered a bit when he turned back to you and grinned.
The last thing you heard before you were out of earshot was Lucifer sighing. “Let him go, you all know how much he needs this time alone with them.”
You clung to Mammon’s arm a bit tighter after hearing that and smiled a bit. “Mammon.”
He looked down at you just as he closed the door to his bedroom with a raised eyebrow.
“I love you more than anything, you know that right? You understand that? I love you. You’re home for me.”
He looked embarrassed at your words, but he wasn’t about to put on his usual act to deflect them right after getting you back. To hell with pretending he wasn’t touched by your words.
So he just cupped your cheek and looked at you fondly. “I love ya too, MC, more than anything. You’re mine, and I’m yours, ya never have to doubt that... if I did anything to ya in the past to make you forget that, I’m sorry.”
You shook your head and pressed it into his chest. “No, you didn’t. I just missed you so much. It was so hard not having this with you. I had to start all over and-”
“Shh, babe, it’s okay, you’re here with me now and I’m not letting ya go anytime soon, got it?”
You nodded at him and let him lead you to his couch for some cuddles. The two of you stayed together for the rest of the night, basking in each other’s company.
Leviathan
You really shouldn’t have been surprised to find him gaming in his room, but a small part of you hoped that he hadn’t been isolating himself too much while you were gone.
He didn’t notice you at first. When he heard the door open, he looked annoyed and started addressing you like you were one of his brothers. “How many times do I have to tell you I’m not coming down for- MC?”
His eyes grew wide and he paused his game, not sure what to do next. He stuttered and tried to string together another sentence, but nothing came out.
You walked to him slowly, tears welling in your eyes as you knelt down and took him into your arms. He reciprocated immediately, dropping his remote and clinging to you.
You brought a hand up to the back of his head and ran it through his hair to calm him down a bit. “I’m home, Levi.”
He buried his head further into your chest and sighed in relief. “I’m glad you’re back, MC, I missed you so much.”
“I missed you too, Levi.”
Satan
The difference in how he looked at you in this timeline versus the past almost caused you to fall to your knees and weep in the middle of the library.
You hated to say it, but you had almost convinced yourself that he would never look at you with love in his eyes ever again. You had grown so used to the harsh newly born version of him these past few... weeks? months? You weren’t even sure at this point.
So having his soft, loving gaze back on you felt like someone bandaging you up after injuring yourself. It was tender, just like him.
You hadn’t realized that you actually had landed on your hands and knees until he was on the ground in front of you, making sure you were okay. You looked behind you and guessed that you had tripped over the carpet, which was now slightly rumpled.
“MC, are you alright?” His tone was full of concern, care, comfort.
You didn’t respond with words. Instead you shifted and pulled him down by the front of his shirt so you could kiss him.
It was sweet, like honey, like him. Your sweet, book-loving, cat-enthusiast of a boyfriend. Finally you were back in his arms. Hearing his voice directed at you, full of affection for the first time in a while turned you to goo.
Leaning your forehead against his as you both caught your breath, you managed to get out a quiet “I am now.”
He’d ask you more questions later without a doubt, but for now he was more than okay holding you tightly against him and whispering sweet nothings into your ears to calm you down.
Asmodeus
He was sitting in the dining room mindlessly flipping through a magazine you knew he had already read from cover to cover, looking more dejected than you had ever seen him.
But that didn’t matter once he saw you because instant relief washed over the both of you as you ran to him and wrapped your arms around his neck. He rubbed his hands up and down your back, fussing over you and making sure you were alright before pulling you back slightly to scan your face.
Tears welled in his eyes as he took you in, making note of any changes since he last saw you, making sure there weren’t any wounds. Admiring your beauty, admiring the love of his life that he was so scared he had lost. He cupped your cheek, gentle and careful with his touch as if you’d break or fade to dust if he pressed any harder.
“MC, my dear, I’m so glad that you’re safe.” It was a quiet moment between two lovers, no one else mattered at that point. You turned your head as more people walked into the dining room with what smelled like take out, but he turned your chin so you were facing him again. You actively ignored the sound of his brothers’ gasps.
He was looking at you with so much awe that you pursed your lips and placed your hand over the one cupping your cheek. “Oh, Asmo,” you whispered. “I’m okay, I’m here.”
After you both finally acknowledged the others an ate dinner together, he pulled you to his room and you spent the night tracing each other’s features and cuddling while he caught you up on everything that had happened since you disappeared.
Beelzebub
At first he looked like a deer caught in the headlights, guilt written all over him as he turned to face whoever had just walked in on him rummaging through the fridge.
And as soon as he realized it was you, a dinner roll fell out of his mouth and he scrambled to put the pile of food in his arms on the counter so he could scoop you up into a bone crushing hug.
You had never seen him so frantic before. He didn’t say anything to you, just relished in the fact that you were back. You tapped his shoulder so he would let you breathe and he let you down, sheepishly apologizing for nearly suffocating you.
You smiled up at him and he frowned as he took you in. “MC, you look exhausted, here, sit down.”
He lead you to the counter and lifted you onto it so you were now at eye level. You leaned forward so you were now touching noses and he placed his palms flat against the counter on either side of you.
“MC,” he whispered.
“Beel?”
“I was so worried about you. I was so scared I lost you, too.”
You cupped his face with both hands and kissed his nose. “I missed you everyday, Beel. And you didn’t lose me, so there’s no need to worry anymore, okay?”
He sighed deeply, as if he was finally letting go of all the pent up stress within him and pressed his head against your shoulder. “Thank you for coming back to me, MC.”
“Always, Beel. As long as I’m able to, I will always come back to you.”
And finally, after going so long without it, he relished in the taste of your lips.
Belphegor
His eyes were the only ones you didn’t meet right away.
He was asleep in the observatory when you finally found him, wrapped up with his pillow and a blanket probably placed over him by one of his brothers.
Not wanting to disturb him, but also desperate to be close to him again, you laid down next to him and curled into his side.
Ultimately you failed at not waking him up but his reaction was worth it, you figured. When he turned around and opened his eyes to see who was trying to steal his blanket, he yelped and scrambled backwards a bit.
Despite the emotions running through you after the day you’ve had, you couldn’t help but laugh a bit as he stared at you from a few feet away.
“MC?”
“That’s me,” you smiled at him, making yourself comfortable again and laying your head on his pillow. You motioned for him to join you and he did so gladly.
Your faces were centimeters apart now that you were sharing a pillow and he pulled your body even closer against his as if he were trying to mold you together. He threw the blanket over the two of you, though you were warm enough already.
“...when did you get here?” he asked.
“I’m not sure. I woke up in my room and came to find you right away.”
He looked smug at the idea of you seeking him out before anyone else. You narrowed your eyes at him. “Don’t get too cocky, mister, it’s a wonder that I didn’t run into any of your brothers first by mistake. I looked all over for you.”
“Well you found me, so I fail to see the problem.” He turned on his back and looked up at the stars. He sighed. “MC, are you alright? I didn’t... none of us hurt you, did we? Solomon told us where and... when you went.”
You traced his nose with your finger and smiled softly at him. “No, Belphie, I’m okay.”
“Good.”
You shifted a bit on the ground and rolled on top of him. “Belphie, can we move to the attic? I honestly have no clue how you can sleep on the ground.”
He snorted and closed his eyes. “Tough luck, then. If you can move me, sure, but I’m getting sleepy again.”
You huffed out a laugh. “Brat.”

I hope you all enjoyed!! this was so much fun to write :)
And considering Mammon is my favourite, his section really threw me for a loop and I’m not sure how I feel about it honestly :// But nonetheless, I’m really proud of this piece overall and I believe it’s my first official obey me fic that isn’t just HCs!! So go easy on me with he characterization, I’m still trying to find my footing with some of them.
forgive me for any mistakes you find, I’m posting this without doing a final edit because I need to go eat dinner and I’m too excited to get this out.
Drabble | Satan & gn!Reader
0.3k words | SFW | Nightbringer Angst
You find Satan during one of his tantrums.
He’s trashing the living room and no one else is in there - you're not sure where they are - but he senses your presence, and it’s too late to leave now.
It’s obvious that he’s upset, but you don't know why. You’re not entirely convinced he knows what he’s upset about, either.
He’s a rising storm when he approaches you, thunderous fury that he unleashes with his sharp glares and fangs bared when he hisses at you. He doesn’t hurt you - he doesn’t touch you at all, really - but his presence is suffocating, like a heavy fog that blurs your vision.
You used to know how to help him - the Satan from your time, the one that’s the same and so very different. You don’t know the young demon in front of you that’s hellbent on tearing this world apart to find a place where he belongs.
Maybe you’re exhausted from trying to pick up the pieces of his fractured family for a second time. You miss being home with the demons you know.
You give him what he needs, an outlet for his frustrations, the only way you’re capable of right now. You stand before him unyielding, shoulders slumped with inevitable defeat. He probably doesn’t notice he’s already won and he’ll walk away and forget about this moment.
Until you go home again, you're powerless to do anything else but endure him the way he is.
beelzebub in the main timeline wondering where you went :( he’s so upset when the realization that you’re missing, you’re gone, and no one can find you sinks in he dives into his vice.
he eats and eats, its nothing new, although the rotting tupperwares and ziplocks with your favorites meals lay untouched. beel has taken a hoard of food that he knows you love, growls at anyone who tries to take the (biohazard) stale food away. you’ll be back and he needs to provide for you when you return.
not lucifer nor belphie can sway him to dispose of the food, even as it rots away. he just can’t even if you can’t eat it he needs to have it for you. beel wakes up early in the morning to make what should be your breakfast, holding his ravenous nature aside as he bags it up for your return; he makes you lunch at noon, and dinner at night.
the stench of rotten food follows the sixth born where ever he goes. he just misses the human okay ☹️
