Not awake enough to fully articulate this right now but I like that Ena grisped Mizuki during Ena5. I think that physical contact was really important for them both. Partially because it shows the extent of Ena's care for Mizuki in the form of her finally being willing to Break The Rules (she is, after all, touching a touch-me-not) to get what she wants (the pink thing safe and sound). Like, I think that deviation from Ena's usual adherence to boundaries must have shocked both of them and made them realize that they are gayer for each other than they first thought exactly how much they need each other.

But also, ALSO, I think it was also just. Extremely reassuring for Mizuki, that Ena wasn't lying about not giving a shit about her not being cis. Can I get a show of hands from the trans people in the audience who're hesitant to touch people lest you be seen as any number of bad things (pervert, spreading the chemicals that make you gay, socially stunted and too touchy feely as a result, etc.)? It's a lot of us, right? So I think Ena silently making it very very clear that Yes Mizuki You Are One Of The Girls Your Brain Is Just Mean was a majorly important part of the Ena5 conflict, and probably a big factor in Mizuki's willingness to come back

#I think sometimes about this one anime trans girl who was almost good for a 2014 childrens show but then she flopped HARDDDDDD #and one of the biggest flop aspects was when she was played for laughs #during a scene where they had to touch each other to get something done and she was like trying to help #but then there was a record scratch and everyone was like AAAHHH HOLD ON YOU CANT DO THAT!!
