Apart from everything else, the major reason I'm not able to properly appreciate nightcore for what it is is because I grew up on the 1980s Saturday morning cartoon version of Alvin and the Chipmunks, so I every time I hear it I get this vivid mental image of these guys belting out 00s German Eurotrance:
