"Mister Wayne, this is a pleasant surprise."

Her eyes flickered to the door and the fact her assistant was standing there looking frustrated. She knew sooner or later Bruce would realise she had returned to Gotham and would request a meeting. The last thing she'd expected, though, was to see him there in her office. Especially as her assistant was the only one who knew she was Talia and not Miranda. Waving her assistant off, she knew that Bruce wouldn't do anything there in public. Not unless he wanted to risk both of their reputations and something told her that he wasn't willing to do that. She could also admit that it was good to see him. It felt like another lifetime ago since she had and her heart raced just seeing him there. "Something to drink? I have some of the same alcohol you enjoyed the last time we saw each other."

Bruce and his relationship was rough to say the least. The emotional wounds were all still open and sore. And Jason was a dog who growled at any hand even hovering near them. Ideology was something they never agreed upon, and Jason was too like Bruce to waver on any of his beliefs. Honestly, he didn’t know which of them was more stubborn but at least things had calmed enough that Jason’s mass plans to clean up Gotham had slowed. He was down to one murder every two weeks, which he thought was an amazing improvement.

The thought of this meeting being a trap crossed his mind. Many times actually. But even with all his discomfort and mistrust now in the man, he agreed to meet. No matter how mad he got he could never bring himself to turn his back completely on the bat. Bruce was more of a dad to him than Willis ever was, and he knew that if Wayne hadn’t taken him in he probably wouldn’t have survived the year. So, with that in mind, he had accepted the phone call and set a location to meet. Hesitant and distrusting, but accepted knowing that Bruce probably wouldn’t try to put him in some facility.

His anger was in check and he was calm as he got to the agreed-upon rooftop. 

Combat boots landing with a small thud he rose to his full height. Natural war ground, but there was no battle here tonight hopefully. The hood looked over the bat with a small humorless laugh, keeping his form a little playful as he strolled forward.  ❝ Must be bad if you need my help. ❞  He tried to keep the air light between them, and truly it was nice to see the man who raised him, but there was still a slight bitterness.

It had been a while since Clark left the planet to take a break from everything -- not the best option to deal with his inner problems, but that was the only way he found to calm himself down. The reason? Nobody knew. Of course, Clark didn’t leave Earth without a goodbye, he wouldn’t let anyone worry about him.

That was a wrong decision, though. During his trip back to Earth, avoiding the red stars nearby, Clark heard something... weird beeping from his back. Right on his left shoulder. A hand tried to caught the possible thing -- a bat-shaped listening device. It looked broken, but still, he knew Batman was behind that.

Clark was pissed -- he needed some time alone to rethink his choices, and Bruce simply attached a bug on his shoulder to keep an eye on him. As he reached Earth, he saw the Watchtower, a familiar heartbeat was getting louder and louder. He didn’t even bother getting inside for now -- finding Batman, through the glass of the tower, he showed the man the device with a deep scowl.

“Are you going to explain the meaning of this?”
