Yesss! Good look!
Thank you! It’s super-comfy too, perfect after the rainy walk I had earlier.

Yeah encouragement to do housework helps people handle living on their own. Without the right teaching it can be hard. A friend of a friend actually managed to melt a plastic kettle because they thought they had to use the stove to heat it. :(
Oh my God, I hope the stove wasn’t ruined. D:

I don't think I was taught so much as learned from example/from figuring it out myself. The exception is my mum telling me what cleaning liquids are dangerous to mix/that kind of thing, and my dad helping me with plumbing. I struggle with plumbing.
But yeah my parents are both quite old and handy around the house…I can’t sew like my mother or fix taps like my dad but most things I learned from watching them handle chores. Having them around a lot helped with that.
Yeah I learned a lot from watching, too... But my mom made a point of teaching me how a washing machine usually works, and they both put me in the kitchen a lot.

ouch yea I at least empathise a lot w being wary about telling family…my parents r accepting but not understanding of this stuff and there’s a huge difference between the two I think…I try to avoid talking about relationships w them bc of it.
ooohhh thats a really good way of putting it actually?!? its true, that family can accept something if you tell them, but it doesn’t mean that they actually understand or know how it feels. im sorry you’ve been feelin like that too though, it can be tough. you’re awesome <3 [hugs]

Right! I was trying to think of a way to describe it too. it’s obviously a place of noise and music but at the same time, those moments of imposed silence as well…and like the on air sign flashing up brings up an almost sacred feeling.
right?!? exactly! that is the thing! it’s like sounds punctuated with heavy silence from time to time, and there is such a metaphorical weight to that sign, there’s almost a ritual to radio. also when no one is doing a live show, it’s just mostly back to back premade playlists that play throughout the night, and it’s so eerie thinking about an unmanned station that still sends out signals of voices to be heard. like numbers stations, oh man they’re so strange and eerie <3

Wheezes yep I was way too embarrassed to go back after that. But being in a radio station is such a cool feeling, it has such a unique atmosphere :0 it’s so good u get to go!
oh nooooo im so sorry about that aaaa [hugs] ;___;
but yeah, there’s just such a atmosphere about it, the booths are so quiet it’s almost eerie, yet its so friendly. it’s just so technological yet personal, idk how to describe it. i just love seeing all the equipment and watching my mum work and giving shout outs to all her friends. its also a lot of fun when im there watching my mum and having silly chats inbetween while songs are playing haha!
