more about “Nightmare Verse”
“Nightmare Reigns” Verse(v.2) is based around the idea that Nightmare Moon, upon her return during Summer Sun Celebration, was able to overthrow the Elements by destroying them immediately instead of taunting Twilight and her friends. She then had the choice to fight Celestia. But Celestia chose to forfeit rather than unleash her full apocalyptic power and Moon banned her to Tartarus. Celestia’s reasons for doing this? She knew to fight Moon she would probably destroy all of Equestria in the process. Moon has been ruling for six or so years now and slowly introducing the populace to the “truths” that Celestia kept hidden from them. She calls these texts the Hidden Texts and the unseen knowledge. Education is most important to her. She has shrouded the land in eternal night but because of magic the world does continue to thrive (just like the Everfree Forest) though it is cooler and without the warmth and light and that would naturally make it a pony’s home.
This is not to be confused with the Alternate Timeline seen in Season 5 when Twilight and Spike see a future ruled by Nightmare.
While similar, it is not exactly the same. For one, my Nightmare is not ruling from the castle of the two sisters in the Everfree Forest. This Nightmare seems to have gotten her power in a different manner. She also has Celestia trapped on the Moon, which is different from my Nightmare, who has her in Tartarus.
Where does this Nightmare stand with the other Baddies?
I’m leaving that unclear for rp purposes. Leaving some avenues open is good for playing purposes and so on and so forth. Though I have ideas about where she stands.
Yes, in her own way. She is going to groom the next generation of young ponies to believe that the truth is better than ignorance. But what exactly is truth in her opinion? Truth is a dark thing. It means that harmony and peace can never exist. It means that the natural state of things is fighting. So Equestria will exist in eternal war with those who are not ponies. Dragons, zebras, breezies, seaponies, griffons, etc. You name it. Prejudice like you won’t believe. It’s on its way in. Manifest destiny is what she’s all about.
Celestia might be biding her time for a return to kick Moon’s ass.
