avoiding him was very much an understatement, even when it hurt wren to the very core of his being, considering that these two were practically attached at the hip as they were growing up. he wanted to pretend that he didn’t know who he was, but their kingdoms have been greatly linked in the past, long before the mysterious tribulations that prince flynn had to go through. what complicated things even more were the venomous accusations against the king and queen of beaugarde, but his father’s shrewd judgment had easily swept them under the rug and had the rest of their people wrapped around his finger like so. wren was, unfortunately, detached from the entire situation, when he was suddenly drowning with all these hobbies to keep him preoccupied --- helpless in fact, just as his best friend needed him more than ever. so logically, their kingdoms have broken ties and so did the two princes, especially upon the suspicions that they were exceeded the limits of a platonic connection. he was not prepared for this bittersweet reunion, doubting flynn would ever step foot into the beaugarde castle again. and yet wren stood there, a deer caught in headlights, right when his hazel eyes met the other’s across an empty hallway with eerie silence floating in the atmosphere. realizing how rude it was to not welcome their esteemed guest, he bowed before greeting him by default, “ prince flynn, it’s an honor for you to join us. “ @nightsmcres
