Peter gave a small, hopefully not too awkward, smiled to Betty at the look she was giving them before Ned jumped in to start talking to her about one of their class assignments instead. The rest of lunch passed by smoothly, and if Betty still had any questions about what they were talking about, or the supposed study session, she didn't ask. The rest of his classes were a little harder to focus on. Glances at the clock for when the bell would finally ring and trying to do his own searches on the idea of hidden tunnels. Not really finding any maps but finding a lot of cool information on them in general.
By the time the bell rang he hurried out to the steps, easily spotting Gwen and going over to join her. The book was taken and flipped through, "I didn't even know the school library had books on this stuff." he admitted, skimming over the pages. Peter looked back up at her, "What do you think? Try and find a map or head down and start looking around?"

"I went down the rabbit hole," Gwen admitted with a shrug of her shoulders, humming as she pursed her lips together. "It might be worth it to try to find a map at the public library? Maybe give a TIME LIMIT on the research before we start to look around?" she offered with a breath. She wasn't really over that time in the subway just yet-- and it would be good to have a bit of an IDEA of where to look instead of just poking at lizard territory.
She walked alongside him as they made their way to the nearest subway station, humming. "Do you-- think there's STILL a part of him in there somewhere? You know, buried underneath all those scales."
