Dick calling up Bruce for dating advice is hilarious to me. "I probably upset my girlfriend by running out on her and I think I might lose her. Quick, let me call up the guy who has never had a functional romantic relationship ever. Who has in fact had a flashback montage of all of his girlfriends storming out on him. Because he also kept running out on them for vigilante stuff/also couldn't prioritize them. Surely the guy who hasn't figured it out can help me!"

Why do people keep calling Dick “kid” in Nightwing (1996)?

It made some sense in Grayson (2014) when I found out he was actually de-aged to 21. But in the post-crisis comics I’m talking about, he’s at least 26. That’s confirmed. And yet Vigilante and now Two-Face are calling him “kid” and it’s just like…no that’s not a kid. Vigilante knows Dick’s age, and Two-Face may or may not but certainly knows that Dick has been a vigilante for 14+ years. And yet, “kid.”

What in the world possessed Alfred to say this?

Quit reminding me about the compressed timeline. I hate the compressed timeline. Dick can’t have only been a vigilante for five years, it makes no sense with his character and story. And it’s just Wrong for Dick to have been a kid in the circus in the recent past.

Bruce fires Dick because he’s spending too much time with the Teen Titans. And then Dick proceeds to take a leave of absence from the Teen Titans to figure things out. So now Batman doesn’t have a Robin, Dick is having an identity crisis, and Dick isn’t even on the Titans anyway. Pointless, lose-lose situation.

I knew Dick was a museum curator at some point. I did not, however, know that he was the curator of the freaking Cloisters. In New York City. The Cloisters.

I’m really trying to withhold judgment until I get to the end of this arc, but Alfred completely ignoring the fact that Dick’s face is covered in blood in Nightwing #7 is really getting to me.

There’s absolutely blood on the cave floor too, by the way.

I don’t know, maybe he’s just waiting until Dick leaves to ask Bruce what’s going on. But he really doesn’t seem to react to it at all.
