imo Amanda and Niik should have been endgame and Crow wouldn't even realize they had something going on until later into it but he'd be very supportive

Amanda and Niik
Some Amanda and Niik to cope <\3
had a dream this morning where bungie released a music video (i can’t remember what the song was though!!!! it was so fitting too ;-;) about niik competing in some night time fancy sparrow race. every time she had a memory of amanda, she’d zoom past the competition until she climbed up to being neck and neck with two other racers, with her right in the middle. she suddenly visualizes amanda sitting behind her on her sparrow, arms around her waist, chin on her shoulder. she tells her something in her ear, something loving and encouraging, like she’s a ghost brought back by the traveler, and it gives niik just enough of a boost for her to win!!! it was so sweet….
As I have foretold in the ancient texts, Amanda and Niik are STILL girlfriends!!!!!!!!
This is the lore for the Unified Theory Sparrow.
A bit bitter about the Niik stuff. Yes it's very nice that she's paying tribute to Amanda. Very touching. But by the same token ... why didn't we get to see her appreciation for Amanda while Amanda was alive? We're informed now that Niik cares a lot about Amanda, so why was so much of Amanda's narrative centered on Crow instead...?
Not trying to be controversial, and I speak as someone who legitimately, unreservedly loves the stories of Sjur & Mara, Wei Ning & Eriana and Maya & Chioma and would change nothing about them. I do think there's something odd about how the only characters* in Destiny who get to be lesbian or in sapphic relationships or even just openly display affection for other women ... are dead or in pairings where one-half is dead. Much to think about.
*(Excluding Ana, who's partner Camrin has no-showed for the last 8 years despite being featured prominently in a comic, and who half of the fandom seem to think is dead anyway because of the events of said comic)
You know who's gonna be devastated by Amanda's death and we're probably never gonna hear from again?
Niik
The Eliksni who worked with Amanda in the Hanger and clearly had a strong relationship with her. And honestly is pretty gay in general.
Probably never gonna hear about Niik losing her friend, who we've actually seen interact positively with Amanda more than just about any character other than Season of the Chosen Crow.
