Nike Code, 2003 : An incredibly elaborate and strictly limited collection by Nike Sportswear designed by Tony Spackman and released to only 10 stores at the time and made from high end fabrics from Italian and Swiss mills. Nike Code was the absolute peak of the performance design era, and like many peaks it came late to capitalise on the futurist trends of the late 90′s early 00′s which by 2003 had already moved on to something more nostalgic and earthy, it was not a commercial success.
Subakaru has written up a nice interview with Tony accompanied by an editorial of archive pieces by Louis Holgrove
