In the run episode 141 while guessing the answer of one of the questions,in the process namjoon was discussing the answers with the members and said is the movie when the boy love or kiss the girl I don't remember well. Wich suga responded to as "this is the normal "referring to the boy girl kiss .everytime I think about it it make it so hard for me to believe there's a gay couple among the group. Like how they will feel hearing one of their bandmate labeling their relationships as abnormal.
You should rewatch episodes before sending in asks like this, and not make outlandish assumptions... Neither RM or Suga said that. I checked both the vlive and weverse versions to see if there was a difference in translation of Suga’s words and there wasn’t, only worded differently. Weverse is where I watch Run BTS.
Context: 22:30 they choose movie for 30 points. The clue is ‘copyright’ and they play a song from the film Her Lyrics and His Name, which is a romantic comedy. At first they think Ryan Gosling stars in it as the lead, he doesn’t. But they know for sure it’s a romance film staring a female and male lead, since RM and Hobi have seen it before. Jimin got the answer right. I provided RM and Suga’s real translations below. This moment happens ~23:40.

What Suga said in both translations is the sad truth, most movies are f/m. Most main characters/leads are not lgbtq+ characters, or in same sex relationships, that is especially true in the eastern film industry. In recent years the western film industry has been slowly including more lgbtq+ characters but it’s still rare to see them as leads or main characters, they are side characters. That’s why Moonlight and Love Simon are such important and well loved films.
Concerning the [of course] subtitle
In the Vlive translation there is the subtitle [of course]. It is a translation of the Hangul caption put in by the editor/editors of the run episode. Translators use [ ], < > or ( ) to differentiate captions from the members words. Since we don’t understand Korean or read hangul we can’t make that distinction. It was not Suga who said of course, it was the caption, the editor. That’s why there’s brackets around it. The editor either did or did not have intentions, but regardless Yoongi did not say that or anything like you are saying.
The use of the Hangul captions -> translator brackets is used for jokes, to roast the members, make side comments, explaining something that’s happening, pretty much anything the members didn’t say. You can see it in all run episodes, bangtan bombs, memories, dvds, etc. An example in 141 and 131 at the end.
The Vlive translator translated the editor’s caption [of course], while the Weverse translator did not.

None of the members say any of the bracketed words, the editors do through captions. I watch Run BTS on Weverse, I find the translation more fluid, while Vlive’s subtitles are more chunky and weirdly worded imo.
I don’t like discourse, too tiring and I want my blog to be a discourse free place for people. However, if I can clear up and combat misinformation that paints a member in a negative light I will. Yoongi would never label a same sex relationship as abnormal, none of the members would.
