I'm *finally* posting these amazing film photos I took in Vienna last April! It was such a joy shooting on the 50 year old Nikon SLR that I inherited from my grandpa! Everything about switching to film felt so refreshing. It's little things, like the tactility of winding film, or pressing the shutter button and feeling the labyrinthine series of springs and gears that all go into taking one photo. Experimenting with black and white, and having to really consider what subjects are worthy of a space on the roll is really forcing me to look at the world in a different way yet again. Anyway, I know these photos aren't technically perfect. This is the first roll of film I've got back, so now I can better understand the characteristics of the lenses, the light metering, focusing, etc. etc. But I really don't think that's the point this time. These photos, at least to me, feel like a completely new way of looking at the world which I could only have taken with this camera 📷. Pic 1: an @mjam_at rider about to cross. Pic 2: contrasting classical architecture details. Pic 3: a small döner shop in the middle of a tram platform. I really love how the interior lighting delicately silhouettes the customers outside. Pic 4: classic architecture in the Altstadt Pic 5: Zum Goldenenwurst 🌭. IDK what's happening here, but the customers and cooks look very adversarial with that pointing. Pic 6: the very decrepit university car parked in this very stylish 1960's car park 🚘⛽⛽ Pic 7: a car, coach, and tram on the street. I like how it captures the movement of the city 🚋. #city #film #filmisnotdead #35mmfilm #NikonFTN2 #Nikon #Vintage #blackandwhite #vienna #wien #österreich #austria #fieldwork #streetphotography #edited #yesfilter #fastfood #travel #tbt #spring #schönstadt #urbanjungle #urbanart #architecture #hustle #kiosk #people #publictransport #tram #classic (hier: Wien, Österreich) https://www.instagram.com/p/CgBaNI5jTBy/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
