with a sleepy yawn, nitocris rolls to the side & snuggles up against arash. for once her viziers seem to leave her alone & she is still too tired to care all too much about it. arms wrapping around the other she moves her face away from his chest just enough that he could hear her muffled voice "if you'd ever left me I'd hunt you down & cry until you'd feel guilty.. but I would respect it. because you never picked this life. or me"
IT WAS STILL FAIRLY early, but Arash had still found himself slowly coming awake with the slow rise of the sun in the distance. One would think that he would grow used to days where he could sleep in as long as he wanted without having to awake for training and the like, but it seemed his body was still stuck in that mode from his soldier days. Still, he was awake enough to catch what Nitocris said – muffled and all. ❝…W-Wha…?❞ He blinked a bit, grogginess still present as mind went over her words one more time just to make sure he had not misheard. It was then he blinked, waking up even more as he glanced down to look upon sleepy features of his wife. ❝Hey, hey, I’d never just up and leave, you know. I mean, I’m just some guy from a little village, and half the politics here confuse me, but I’d never abandon you.❞
Politics in general were not his forte, though this was not to say that he did not understand it at a base level. Some of the things that were told to Nitocris had him narrowing his eyes with suspicion, so he was not afraid to state his opinion to the one speaking or to her if necessary. She may be the pharaoh, but he was her spouse and had as much say in what happened as she did…or at least he thought that was the case. Maybe he was breaking decorum without realizing it… Fingers gently carding through her hair, he hoped to soothe her this way if words were not enough. ❝I’m with you until the end. That’s how that works. So, just close your eyes and go back to sleep, Nitocris. You need the rest.❞ Arash would keep an eye on her, hold her close within the warmth of his arms until she was ready to leave it.
