((This thread is based off of nileflood's wonderful story. Both of us fell in love with the crossover and talked to him about rping it. So you should all go read the perfection. I hear there's a sequel coming out sometime too.))
Gabriel was stuck. Writer's block was horrible and he had a bad case of it. But he needed to put out something for his publisher to work with. Kali already wasn't pleased with his lack of production, but he couldn't help it. Not only had he lost his muse, but he had also lost the time to write. And no matter how many times he told this to Kali, she just lectured him on how he used to be able to do it and how his readers were counting on him and we can't forget about the film producers.
He groaned at his computer and leaned back in his chair, staring at the ceiling. He knew what he needed to do, but didn't know how to go about doing it. He hadn't needed a new muse for a while now, but the Jack Ryder stories just weren't coming as easily to him anymore and he needed to write something.
He sighed, but closed his computer and got up from his chair, stretching. He got dressed and brushed his teeth, grabbing his notepad as he walked out the door of his apartment. Maybe he'd find something out in the city his morning that could spark something, anything.
He was awarded with just the thing as he walked down the street and heard a commotion, immediately making a beeline toward it. Where there was a commotion, there was a possibility for a story. He was shocked to find a number of police cars and other vehicles outside a roped off crime scene.
A shiver of joy and anticipation ran down his spine as his curiosity drove him forward to the edge of the tape. If only he could get inside, see more of the evidence and procedure. Maybe if he could get one of the officer's attention. He saw a tall man walking near enough to the crowd and called out to him, much to the annoyance of the others. "Excuse me!"
