#29 fluff do I really need to tell you for which characters lmao. Robert and Lilah of course.
It was Robert’s second trip to visit Lilah since they started dating. Since they lived so far apart, it meant most of their relationship was conducted through daily phone conversations and travelling several miles across the country to see each other.
On this particular day when Robert awoke, Lilah wasn’t in bed with him. This wasn’t an unusual occurrence, Lilah was often up and on her way to the office during the days she couldn’t get off work, but today she wasn’t due in, so Robert expected to find his girlfriend curled up next to him.
Sliding on his slippers, Robert grabbed his glasses and padded out of the room, to hear music drifting up from the sitting room below. As he made his way downstairs, he realised that it was Lilah and she was singing; she sounded beautiful.
Robert stopped quietly in the doorway, not wanting to disturb her.
“Sometimes, I feel you're mine alone,
And yet I'm sure it's just not so.
I get this feeling on my own;
After I learn if you're staying,
Or if you're going.”
Lilah sang as her fingers danced over the keys, in her own little world. Robert couldn’t help but gaze softly at her, falling in love with the woman in front of him.
“I didn’t know you could sing.” Robert said, once she finished playing.
“Robert! I didn’t realise you were there.” Lilah jumped and turned around to face him. Robert walked over to the piano stool and perched on the end of it.
“Not for all of it. You sounded beautiful.” Robert told her. He pressed a kiss against her cheek.
Lilah smiled. “Thank you.”
“Could you play me something?” Robert asked. Lilah hesitated, she hated playing in front of people, but she couldn’t say no to Robert’s adoring look.
“Sure.”
