“You have my deepest condolences”
Robert: You're pretty cute when you're nice.
Lilah: What am I when I am not nice?
Robert: Hot as fuck.
Lesson 994: foreseeing doesn't mean avoiding.
THE PEOPLE ON SNOWPIERCER | FIRST CLASS (X)
#29 fluff do I really need to tell you for which characters lmao. Robert and Lilah of course.
It was Robert’s second trip to visit Lilah since they started dating. Since they lived so far apart, it meant most of their relationship was conducted through daily phone conversations and travelling several miles across the country to see each other.
On this particular day when Robert awoke, Lilah wasn’t in bed with him. This wasn’t an unusual occurrence, Lilah was often up and on her way to the office during the days she couldn’t get off work, but today she wasn’t due in, so Robert expected to find his girlfriend curled up next to him.
Sliding on his slippers, Robert grabbed his glasses and padded out of the room, to hear music drifting up from the sitting room below. As he made his way downstairs, he realised that it was Lilah and she was singing; she sounded beautiful.
Robert stopped quietly in the doorway, not wanting to disturb her.
“Sometimes, I feel you're mine alone,
And yet I'm sure it's just not so.
I get this feeling on my own;
After I learn if you're staying,
Or if you're going.”
Lilah sang as her fingers danced over the keys, in her own little world. Robert couldn’t help but gaze softly at her, falling in love with the woman in front of him.
“I didn’t know you could sing.” Robert said, once she finished playing.
“Robert! I didn’t realise you were there.” Lilah jumped and turned around to face him. Robert walked over to the piano stool and perched on the end of it.
“Not for all of it. You sounded beautiful.” Robert told her. He pressed a kiss against her cheek.
Lilah smiled. “Thank you.”
“Could you play me something?” Robert asked. Lilah hesitated, she hated playing in front of people, but she couldn’t say no to Robert’s adoring look.
“Sure.”
“I loved you.” “Then why did you let (her/him/them) get in between us?”
Lilah and Robert talking about Melanie
Lilah knew she'd hurt him. She never meant to do anything to cause him pain, but then Melanie was there. Melanie was beautiful but goofy and Lilah couldn't help but find the charm in that. She needed her. But Lilah hated what it would do to the man she once loved.
"How could you do this?" Robert asked. They'd been arguing for a while now, after he came back early from his poker game to find Lilah in bed with Melanie. Lilah wished he found out any other way.
"I never meant for it to happen but it did. I never meant to hurt you, Robert." Lilah said, honestly.
"You did hurt me, Lilah." Robert had tears shining in his eyes and it took everything Lilah had to hold her own in. She was an upper class woman, she knew how to hold in her emotions but this was especially difficult.
"I loved you." The use of past tense made Robert wince.
"Then why did you let her get in between us?" Robert said. Lilah didn't have an answer for that.
When Robert realised, he grabbed a bag from under the bed and packed up a few essentials. Lilah couldn't do anything but watch.
"I'm going to ask Ruth to assign me a new suite. I'll be back for the rest of my things when I'm ready." Robert told her from the doorway.
As Lilah watched Robert walk away, all she wanted was for Melanie to come back and hold her, and she wished that wasn't true.
"Stop moving and let me braid your hair" with Mel/Lilah/Robert
Melanie knew Lilah didn’t like her hair touched so when she asked one night if they could do a braid chain, she was surprised when the answer was yes. Robert moved behind Melanie and Lilah sat in front of her.
“Are you sure you’re okay with this?” Melanie asked. This was the third time she’d said this within the space of a few minutes and Lilah turned around to face her.
“Yes. If I wasn’t comfortable I’d say no, but it’s you and Robert. I’m fine.” Lilah said, pulling Melanie’s hand up to kiss her palm. Melanie smiled and leaned forward to give Lilah a kiss. Suddenly, Melanie felt two arms snake around her waist from behind and pull her backwards.
“Stop moving and let me braid your hair.” Robert said, kissing her cheek.
Melanie laughed and moved back into position, as she and Robert got to work on the braids.
Your opinion on Robert's glass eye? Would an eyepatch have worked just as well?
I don’t think Robert’s character would have an eye patch. Him being upper class means he can afford a glass eye and it looks better to keep up appearances. So I get why they chose that rather than eyepatch and also plot device. It keeps the suspicion away from LJ and is revealed at exactly the moment we’re meant to be questioning her.
But this message made me think. While Robert’s waiting for his glass eyes to be made he has to wear an eye patch and him and LJ would play pirates whilst Lilah is there like you’re idiots skshs
