Jacaerys had seen his chance and taken it. The Blood Prince was out on patrol with a few of his men, a few of them Targaryen soldiers, but most of them were Velaryon. Jace having chosen to surround himself with people from his father's house. He fought with them and they respected him for it.
The group was scouting when they had come across a wheelhouse, a Lannister one from the looks of it going in between King's Landing and Casterly Rock. Jace had wasted no time issuing an attack on the party. The Blood Prince and his warriors made quick work of the guards and the stewards, stopping the wheelhouse and letting the horses free. They smashed the wheels and Jace's men dealt with any survivors as he yanked the door of the wheelhouse open his sword drawn as he looked inside.
