Sprinkle: Bro, I had the sweetest dream last night.
Nimetu: Bro, every moment I spend with you is a sweet dream.
Sprinkle: Bro.
This is Nimetu the Astheno-Snake. Everything he touches (aside from other living creatures) is turned into Diorite that he can control with his mind.
Nimetu: I dare you to-
Maggie: Sprinkle isn't allowed to accept dares.
Sprinkle: Apparently I have 'no regard for my personal safety'.
Nimetu’s Journal: Entry 2
Alright, journal time! I just realized how useful it is to be an Astheno-Snake. Even though the only one with feet is Rakkaus, I’m the only one who can hold a journal and a writing utensil without losing balance, because I can make myself fake, but working, limbs out of my rock. So, technically I sometimes have functioning arms and legs. Therefore, I can hold my journal and a quill of some sort without falling over. Rakkaus can’t use his feet for that! Being me rocks! Heh. Rocks.
Wait, the journal is about adventure, right? Let’s actually get to my last adventure. This one was…weird, to say the least. I know I wrote about ancient creatures guarding things, but I had no idea I could predict the future so well! Except, instead of guarding a secret, this creature was guarding a wish. He looked like some kind of big lizard, not quite a dragon but definitely not a gecko. We’d heard about him from some old squirrel while passing through a town. The old guy told us that the old lizard could grant wishes, but very few had been able to reach him, and those that did always left without succeeding. Things like this are the reason I love what I do. It’s the perfect quest for us! After getting directions from the squirrel, we set off for the wish-granting lizard. The way was tough, but with all of us working together, it was a breeze. Well, it still was somewhat difficult, so maybe not a breeze. Maybe a small storm? If that makes any sense? Whatever the case, we eventually made it. When we saw the lizard, he was in a weird position. It was like he was curled up in a sleeping position, but his wings (yeah, he had wings, maybe he was half-dragon?) were halfway open, and his head was lifted slightly off the ground. The thing that made it weird was that he was frozen like that. That kind of positioning usually precedes another action, like taking off. But he appeared to be stuck that way. When he heard us enter his cave, he struggled to open his eyes, like they were frozen too. He tried speaking to us, but his mouth didn’t want to budge either. Eventually he got his mouth open enough to speak, and he told us this: “I know why you have come. All who come here desire my wish, yet all fail to do what I ask, despite the favor being necessary for the wish to be given. Ages ago, my scales were about to shed. Yet, for reasons unknown to me, they stiffened and didn’t come off. They remained frozen, stuck to my body, and I have been trapped within them for such a long time. I cannot give you my wish unless I can move. Free me from this shell, and I will gladly give you what you seek.” As we all looked at him, it seemed he was telling the truth. From the look of his scales, the looked ready to peel off, but they were so close to the lizard’s body that the shedding process would be difficult to begin. For a while, we brainstormed on how to go about the task presented to us. However, Hizli had an idea that he wouldn’t let go of. Which made sense, considering his idea involved something he had never done before.
Carefully, Hizli put his head into a crack in the layer of dead scales, near the lizard’s mouth. After that, he was moving so fast I couldn’t keep up with him. We had deducted earlier that if we could at least get a bit of air between the living scales and the dead ones, then the lizard would have a much easier time shedding them completely. Hizli decided that if he could slither around in between the two layers, then that would be the quickest way to do that. We couldn’t have stopped him if we tried.
We could all see an ever-growing bubble of air forming under the scales, and the lizard seemed to be enjoying the process. I can’t really blame him. Who knows how hot it must be in there? It probably feels amazing for his scales to breathe.
I’ll be completely honest, though. I found it hard to watch what Hizli was doing. Sure, maybe it was his choice to do it. Sure, I could blame me not being able to watch on his speed. But no, the reason I couldn’t watch was because I found the process…somewhat gross. I would never try to physically get under another reptile’s scales. I mean, come on. Ew.
After a while, Hizli managed to finish his job, and he popped out near where he went in, right by the lizard’s mouth. Rakkaus told the old lizard that the scales should come off with relative ease now, and true to his word, they did! This process, the one of all the scales practically showering off in a mini explosion, was something I found miraculous. It was a spectacle to behold.
The lizard was very grateful. After stretching a bit, he walked into an opening behind him. After not too long, he came out with four little rainbow-colored rocks. I didn’t understand why he gave us fancy rocks instead of granting us wishes, so I asked him. He then told us that the rocks were the wishes. Oh, that freaking lizard would have been in a world of pain if the others hadn’t held me back. What a rip-off! Lucky for the old guy, they managed to hold me back long enough for him to explain himself. He told us that the rocks had the power to grant wishes, so they were actually more useful than simply having a wish granted immediately. These wishes you could carry around with you, and use then whenever you wanted. After hearing that, I managed to calm down. The lizard told us that we had to say his name in order for the stones to activate, so he told us his name was Nikeelo. Nikeelo gave us the four rocks, and my team gave them to me to hold. Did I mention I love being an Astheno-Snake? I put the four wishes inside a clump of my rock, and then molded the shape of my rock into the shape of a little helmet, which I then put on my head. After that, we went on our way, now equipped with four personal fail-safes should we need them. I really love my job.
Okay, wow. That was a really long description. I better make my next entries shorter, or else I’ll fill up this notebook in no time. I need to do a better job of summarizing. I didn’t even mention all the stuff that happened on the journey to the old lizard’s cave!
On that note, I really don’t know what to do with my wish. When I come up with something, I’ll probably write it here. I really love my life, my friends, and all our adventures, though. What more could I ask for?

Nimetu’s Journal: Entry 8
Well, today we came across something I never expected. It wasn’t really an adventure, but it’s noteworthy at least. Long story short: Origin Dragons. Everyone on Mythcre has heard of them, as an Origin Dragon, White Halo, is one of the Forms of The Sage. Everyone knows The Sage. She and her Forms saved the whole freaking universe for crying out loud. Why am I telling you this?! Or, why am I writing this is a better question. Eh, maybe someone who’ll read this will have been living under a rock or something. I don’t know. Anyway, Origin Dragons! Our group had no idea where the mountain they lived was, so coming across it was the coolest accident ever! Rakkaus was the first to notice something off about the location. Dotted all around the valley we were in were these little portals. We watched one for a while, and eventually this little rabbit popped out. It ran away before we could question it. One of the defining characteristics of the Origin Dragons’ home are portals like these. They link to another world, and the rabbits that come out of them are ‘non-sentient’, or lacking the kind of intelligence required to function as an equal being to others. To be more specific, Non-sentient creatures are governed by their instincts, while sentient creatures make their own decisions based on reasoning and logic. Non-sentient creatures are often kept as pets.
Origin Dragons use them as food.
The portals summon brainless creatures, so the Dragons eat them. The interesting thing about that is that they don’t have to. Most Mythcreans don’t require food to live, but some creatures still do. Origin Dragons aren’t one of these creatures; they just eat out of habit, because they want to. Plus, rabbits aren’t the only thing on their diet. They also snack on various gems and crystals, from what I understand. The hunting of gems and rabbits both are symbolic of something, to prove strength and such. Never really got around to asking them the specifics.
Anyway, Rakkaus realized what the portals meant, so he suggested we go up towards the mountain caves. When we got there, BANG! Origin Dragons everywhere! I was surprised, Rakkaus was satisfied that he had been right, Shaman was in awe, and Hizli was already almost next to one of them out of extreme curiosity. It wasn’t long before one of them noticed us. She was green, and she said her name was Emerald Leaves. She was eager to show us around, but another, a black and orange one named Tiger Spike, appeared and stopped her. He was incredibly suspicious of us, and I really don’t blame him.Rakkaus and Tiger Spike started talking to each other, but I can’t remember the exact conversation. I wasn’t paying much attention to them. I was more curious about the place as a whole. While Tiger Spike was distracted, Emerald Leaves and I snuck away from them. Shaman stayed behind with Rakkaus, obviously, and at this point I had no idea where Hizli was.
I got to look at all the neat features of the place. There was this big cave full of all the gems the Dragons had collected, and it was an awesome sight to behold. Emerald Leaves (ok I’m just gonna call her EL now, her name is too long) took me to see the leader of the Origin Dragons. His name was Red Scale. He was a bit suspicious of me as well, but EL told him about my powers. Then he was interested. Wait, now that I think about it, I never mentioned my powers to EL. How did she…wait. I leave a trail of Diorite when I slither. And if I’m not slithering I have fake legs. There is literally no way someone wouldn’t notice my powers. Well that answers that. Anyway, I demonstrated my awesome power to Red Scale, and he seemed to be very curious. Then I remembered that I had some questions about Origin Dragons, so I told him that I wanted to learn about his kind in exchange for the information about my own. He was happy to oblige, and I even got Rakkaus to remember it all for me. I love having smart friends. Rakkaus mentally catalogued all the different ‘Tail Symbols’ the Dragons had, as well as their purpose. My personal favorite was the ‘Orb’ tail type. Dragons with Orb tails can control water, steam, and ice in a similar way I control my Diorite. They’re really neat. EL’s Tail Type is Vine. She can control nature to a degree. Trees literally bend to her will and it’s AWESOME. Origin Dragons are so cool!
Well, after we visited for a while we left. Although this wasn’t as much as an adventure as some of the other things we do, I’m very curious now. Who knows how cool the other Sage Forms’ species are? We’ll have to check out the homes of the Meta-Wolves and Shiftos later.
Nimetu’s Journal: Entry 7
If Rakkaus finds out I’m writing this, he’ll kill me for sure. But I can’t let this moment not go down in history! Or at least, I can’t not write it down. It’s too amazing for me to pass this opportunity up. And hey, if Rakkaus finds out, I can just remind him that Shaman was the one who told me to keep a journal in the first place. So yeah, her fault.
THEY WERE…Well, it’s hard to pinpoint what was happening for certain. It looked like they were doing something in secret, like they didn’t want anyone else to know about it. Thing is, I wouldn’t put it past Rakkaus to keep secrets from the rest of us. But Shaman keeps no secrets from us, at least not that I know of. She’s a very honest snake. So, what could they be doing that she wouldn’t want us to know about?
From where I was, I couldn’t hear anything they could have been saying. But I could see them just fine. It looked like they staring at each other for a while. Then they circled each other for a while. I couldn’t really see Rakkaus’s face, but he looked kinda flustered…I have very little doubt that, whatever they were talking about, was anything but platonic 'friendshippy’ stuff. What I’m trying to say is that they looked very romantic out there. No idea to what degree, but good on you, Rakkaus. After a while, they kinda just sat there next to each other. It looked, well, adorable. Not sure I sound like a guy by fanboying over my friends’ romance, but I don’t really care.
It really doesn’t sound like much when I write it down, I just realized. But trust me, this is very significant, and even if it wasn’t, I’ll take what I can get.
