Part 3... Javier's Desi: After I got over his less than polished look as Desi Arnaz and his not-so Cuban accent, he began to grow on me. He captured the warmth of Desi that Nicole was lacking in her Lucy. Maybe seeing him hold the baby and never Lucy adds to my perception of his warmth. He was believable at showing Desi's as a man who still loved and protected his wife, had strength in business and a strong ability to problem solve on the fly. Nina's Vivian: Vivian was no shrinking violet on the set and was often vocal in her opinions. So was Nina's Vivian. I wish we could've gone deeper with Vivian in this movie but that was not part of Aaron's vision. JK's Fred: JK Simmons comes off well as the cranky curmudgeon, Bill Frawley as well as his hardly indistinguishable character, Fred Mertz. Unfortunately, like Nina's Vivian, he is forced to participate in the overplayed myth that they fought constantly. He is allowed to show a slightly softer side of himself in his final scene with Nina, Nicole and Alia. If you are a die hard Lucille Ball fan who might find it difficult to look past the many timeline issues and if you have a high expectation for accuracy when it comes to telling the story of the lives of real people, then this movie may not be for you. If you are the average I Love Lucy fan who either doesn't know or won't be bothered by these innacurracies AND you want a night out to see a good made for Hollywood by Hollywood drama, then this just might be the thing for you. Sorkin did not have fans like me in mind. #lucilleball #javierbardem #ninaarianda #aliashawkat #jksimmons #beingthericardos #review https://www.instagram.com/p/CXVETslsXUp/?utm_medium=tumblr
