Next in my newly reordered stack is Bezimena by Nina Bunjevac. Her work is special. It starts with the void of outer space telling a story to a star. On the left side of the page is the void speaking to the star, and on the right side of the page is a lush illustration of the events being described. To me it illustrated how the star imagined the story in its mind. Perhaps creating the reality as it imagined it. It gives a feeling of Greek Gods discussing the folly of mortals. It is a beautiful idea that reality is created by the imaginings and dreams of immortal gods. Not to be corny. Anyways, the story is dark and about severe sexual assault and madness. The horror of the story is contrasted with just magnificent art by Bunjevac, epic line art.
