10. Top three favourite fic tropes.

Hurt/Comfort - to absolutely no one’s surprise. Doesn’t matter if it’s emotional or physical. Give me one character dropping everything to be there for the other and doing everything that they can to try to make sure that they’re okay Slowburn Friends to Lovers - Again not a surprise. There’s just something about 2 people caring so much about each other that they’re not even sure when those feelings changed. Add a sprinkle of angst because they don’t want to risk moving forward for fear of losing what they already have and I’ll eat that right up. Protective [Character] - not even sure if this is really a trope. But Character A knowing that Character B is fully capable of defending themself, but having the urge to do everything that they can to protect them anyway. *Chef’s Kiss* Side note - If anyone has any favorite Chenford, Bellarke, or Romanogers fics that fit these tropes and wants to send some recs my way, you’d be the best.

29. What's the hardest thing about writing?

Feeling stuck. Though I try to write at least a little bit every day, I usually have a little bit of a crash for a few days after every time that I post. This one has been lasting a lot longer, and it’s so so frustrating when you have the story you want to tell in your head, but the words just aren’t flowing.

33. Give your writing a compliment.

I feel like you picked this one just because you know that I struggle with complimenting my writing in any way haha. Thanks Nina 🙈.  I guess my compliment would be that my writing is really good at eliciting emotion in other people and that can be cathartic for them. Also my endings are at the very least hopeful, so I don’t leave you dangling down in the pits of despair

29- Music or no music?

No music. I need as much silence as possible when I write. If there's some sort of unavoidable noise around me (like my neighbors being Predictably Horrible) I might turn on some white noise to drown it out but I don't even like doing that. If I'm writing something (directly or indirectly) music-inspired, I'll listen to it before I start writing and maybe in between sprints, but not while I write. It's too distracting.

31- Are you doing this instead of actually working on your wip?

Um, I mean kinda? I wasn't really planning on writing today. And I haven't! So it's all going according to plan. I did do some outlining earlier today and I was kinda planning on maybe doing some more tonight, but only tentatively. The plan tomorrow is to write though...

40- What should you be writing right now that you’re excited about?

My current project is my Southern Gothic AU--which actually does have a working title, I just feel reluctant to share it for some reason--and I actually am excited about it! I was totally obsessed... I guess it was the week before last? and then I cooled down a little on it, but I still think it'll be a good fic if I can just... actually write it. My (still ambitious) goal is to finish it by the second half of October. I can write a lot pretty fast when I am really invested in something and feel a definite but reasonable (or sometimes not so reasonable) deadline in front of me, so... it's an ambitious plan but it's not impossible!

Roughly speaking, it'll be five (maaaaaybe six) chapters long, with each chapter focusing on a different character, and cover a little over 24 hours, mostly on Halloween. Bellamy is the main character, but other chapters focus on Raven, Octavia, and Kane, while Clarke, Jasper, Monty, Murphy, Emori, and Luna have significant roles as well. If it turns out as I want, it'll be very atmospheric, dark, creepy, with some cliche Southern Gothic Tropes like the mad preacher, the threat of the devil, a scandal involving an old family in a mansion house, secrets, rumors, murder, and some witchcraft and vampires thrown in there too. I originally came up with the idea last year, so it's been marinating in my head for a while! I hope it turns out well.

Oh, and the lemon/lime question is about older terms for smut in fanfic! A lemon is like an NC-17 or E-rated fic, highly explicit, and a lime would be something less explicit, like maybe an M-rated fic. I don't really use those terms myself, but I have heard them!
