I got a mattress shipped to me and it was way heavier than I expected.
Yeah, my parents got a king from Helix that I helped them install, and it was close to 110 pounds, so I at least had some warning; I checked the weight on the website and this one is 65, which is manageable if not easy for one person. I definitely fucked up a shoulder muscle getting it settled in the frame.

Not trying to start any drama here, but the Helpy Selfy and Heapy Cheapy at least strike me as somewhat racist, especially since Asian Americans were often stuck opening laundries or grocery stores. Maybe I’m reading too much into it, though. The other rhyming ones seem harmless.
It’s possible -- there aren’t any images of the exterior or interior decor of the buildings themselves, nor any photos/mentions of the owners. That said, in this case I think it’s somewhat unlikely, if only because it’s a super small town in ultra-rural Texas and the Asian population of Texas, especially in 1939, outside of major urban areas, was not large. I’m inclined to think they were probably simply both owned by someone in Quemado who liked rhymes. :D But yeah, can’t rule it out.

Photopea is a perfectly lovely free web-based photoshop alternative. Give it a whirl!
Oh, thanks for the suggestion! I ended up just using Gimp, which has a hideous interface but to its credit is both functional and reasonably intuitive for someone who used to use Photoshop.
