Isn't it so fucked up how the US will sit and cry about nine-eleven while doing the same to another country? Isn't it fucking atrocious how America will play the victim while sending missiles across the world? We sit in their schools and listen to them drone on about how one time someone did something bad to us, and just a few thousand miles away we are doing the same to others. Nine-eleven does not justify these actions. Yes, it was a tragedy, and my heart honestly does go out to those who are personally affected by it. There is no excuse for what happened that day. But there is also no excuse for what is happening today. Instead of throwing ourselves a pity party, why isn't anyone standing up to say, "This is bad. We need to not follow this path of death and destruction." I said this to my AP US History teacher today and he simply shrugged. I said it to my language arts teacher, to my math teacher, my science teacher, my fucking principal for god's sake. And no one said a fucking word back. All I got was blank, uncomfortable stares and averted glances. Innocent people are dying at our hands and yet no one wants to speak out about this. We need to do something about this.
