The Lunch That Wasn’t Grant Allen @grantallencookltd is back from Japan and to say he’d been making waves (tsunami more-like) in the food writing world is an understatement. He had arranged a lunch catch-up at Pah Homestead for Uncle and photographer Jason Burgess @burgseye and had brought back a Ninja bowl for Uncle and that pleased him no end. Arigato gozaimashita. We placed our food order at 12.40pm. The kitchen was struggling, a bus group arrived. They had to be attended first. Luckily we 3 had a lot to catch up with over coffee/tea. We had almost run out of incendiary topics to discuss to notice that it was already 2pm. We decided to leave when the first 2 orders arrived. We had no choice but wait for Uncle’s order (mushrooms and polenta) before getting them all packed up, like UberEats. We would have been more forgiving if the waitstaff had updated us about our meals. * On the up side, Anna Perry’s multi layered and hand cut-out plywood artwork, Park 2012 is an absolute showstopper positioned right at the entrance of Pah Homestead. #ninjabowl #giftfromjapan🇯🇵 #loveit #lunch #longwait #thelunchthatneverwas #pahhomestead #montececiliapark (at The Pah) https://www.instagram.com/p/B0C22OXJ8Rn/?igshid=6hxczn7qtyz5
