A new addition
I will probably regret verbalizing this, but it’s 8 a.m. on a Saturday.
I’m not alone in my apartment this morning.
After my last relationship, I tried to remain hopeful... but honestly I know the idea of finding someone who completes my broken self and I could trust enough to have a family with.... seemed fleeting.
We connected online and met at a bar almost a month ago. He found out I teach aikido and wanted to try it out. He’s not the first guy to do that. Granted most tell me I could kick their ass in a mock-a-tude.... but one or two have the balls to try it out.
His first day, he’s great and joins. I’ve seen him every day since then.
Another Steal the Technique!
I was very lucky with this one. I made a friend from Sweden who was visiting my local dojo. It was so nice to see someone talented and passionate about aikido and martial arts. He also really understood what it meant to be a teacher.
My favorite part is at the end when I got to hi-five him. He thought it was a shomenuchi attack. Hahahahaha
Trying to get back on track on my StealTheTechnique Project.
huzzah!
No Joke: Be careful what you request from the universe.
Today was simply madness.
If it's meant to be,
She will give it to you and it will happen fast.

Took a woman's self defense seminar and had dinner with a bunch of badasses.
Shrinking!
I'm shrinking! I'm shrinking!
Yesterday I bought two pairs of jeans.... not a size ten, but and EIGHT a bloody EIGHT! I never ever ever thought, I'd fit into an eight. I figured a ten was possible but an eight was a dream. And confession, I even was able to fit into a six but it was WAY too tight. (but I buttoned it!) Granted it's old navy pants so who knows what they do with their sizing, but I don't care, I'm taking it.
Food still tastes horrible, even bacon. The good thing is, I just make myself eat. It's kind of an annoying process, kind of a personal hell and I feel often guilty because there are people with real problems, such as not being able to eat at all.
My boss gave me a few martial corrections with my form. They're high level corrections and it's eating at me to try and work on them. My coworkers told me not to worry about them because their expected of black belts not yellow belts. But I feel if the correction was given that I have to figure it out. Don't you guys agree?
I tried my first Tai Chi class tonight!
It was awesome! They instructor promised we can learn how to do fan forms. I'm sooo stoke.
Everything seems to be going great.... I can't keep up! :)
Been quiet again.
But I'm going to say it's probably a good thing.
I've been trying to keep busy. I have a spartan race in about a week. First one, extremely in over my head. And that's ok. I'm not sure if it's sadness or just trying to fill a void or two, but I just want to be active.... and I'm not taking "no" for an answer. My coworker said he'd go geocaching with me and made plans instead (I think it's a young person thing to do or something). Normally I would have just went home, but I wandered the woods by myself treasure hunting, like a g'd pirate.
It was good tho, I found a spot and practiced my forms. I'm slightly frustrated because I only been taught one form. I understand that you have to learn things in order.... it's just different than aikido. Like I rarely remember being told "you can't learn this". I remember, "you're not going to get it yet," or "give it a shot if you want", but ... yeah.... a great example is step sparring or any weapons.... I'm not suppose to learn them for at least another 6 months- two years.
So a practice my basic kicks, stretching, and push ups. Yay conditioning. Still can't do a cartwheel... drives me crazy. I'm almost at a handstand, but I can only seem to do them in the hall using two walls. (But that's progress right?) Did I mention I have had this week off? I can't wait for the school to be open, I kinda can't wait for class.
