ok spoilers and long rant

So these are their dragon/oni forms because they came from the first realm

They’re both half-dragon half-oni, but kris got more oni prominent features while free got more dragon prominent features

Like Wu and Garmadon basically

free’s unknown grandparent was the first to get elemental powers while kris’s grandpa/jinbei yippee was the first to create spinjitzu. During the dragon and oni war, free’s parents were probably killed or smth so kris and jinbei adopted him. Even tho they were more oni and he was more dragon

Anyways anyways

I like to give the chars more depth than the original show. so while Kris is still kind and strict, she tries to appear stoic and wise to hide impatience and anger issues.

Side note, similar case with shasa. She’s really stubborn, loyal, an kinda emotional in the anime so im trying to build up more on that because she deserves it.

Okok so free’s dragon form is obv heavily inspired by Fafnir’s avatar. He takes off his sash and kilt so it doesnt get in the way. In dragon form his eyes turn golden and slightly glow. It’s not too visible in the drawing but its very prominent in the anime so why not.

I was debating how much oni to give kris because- lets be honest- the oni designs are so so cool and the concept is so rad but combined w kris’s features it didnt rlly work out. She gets oni markings and her eyebrows turn into those weird markings too, but in the shape of a dragon head. (I suck at drawing dragons so bear with me) her oni colors are dark and vibrant magenta rather than black and purple.

Also her Sol patch is black because she’s more oni while free is (my attempt at) gold because he’s more dragon

Also her oni weapon is a kris blade, how fitting!

In my fic ive been all “ooh gee i wonder what kris’s elemental power is!”

It’s destruction

Because i like kris, so im giving her an op power. (Free doesn’t have creation, he has golden energy. Someone else has life, but that’s a secret 🤡)

so i already drew kit and silas a while back but it was on the same canvas as kris and the others so i brought them to a new canvas and added wakiya, they look a little funny but its ok
