I'm watching @findher-ogg play DA:I for the first time, and we kept joking that Solas is just bald Emet-Selch and so I made this in like five minutes
Me seeing Patrick Wilson's name: RAOUL, THE VISCOUNT DE CHAGNY?!?!?
Okay, I feel like this needs to be pointed out because it clearly shows that no one knows this, BUT just because Chris is out of the band doesn't mean that Aether is gone.
I've seen a lot of people say how much they're going to miss Aether, and sure, that's valid, but you're going to miss this specific portrayal of Aether because technically the character still is there, they're just played by a different person and have been given a new name by people on a whim.
Anyway,
Not to sound like that person, but if you've been into Ghost as long as I have, you would know that the main Nameless Ghouls have specific alchemical symbols associated with them (Fire, Water, Earth, Air and Aether as seen below) especially during the Meliora era
Depending on their role within the band, the Nameless Ghouls were sometimes nicknamed after their associated symbol, but most of the time, we just called them the Nameless Ghouls.
I'm making a point here to call them the Nameless Ghouls because that's what they are supposed to be; Nameless, especially when it comes to their actors because we aren't supposed to know who they are and a lot of the fun about the Nameless Ghouls was that they were anonymous
There have been multiple performers for the Nameless Ghouls, and it will continue to be that way. The performers we see on stage, at least to my knowledge of how it was in the past, are not the same ones we hear on the song recordings.
Aether has always been a Nameless Ghoul in the Ghost "lore" and will continue to be one (unless newer fans decide not to by enforcing Phantom into the "canon"). Chris was just their stage actor this time round, and as harsh as this sounds, was never meant to be a proper member of the band. None of the actors who perform the Nameless Ghouls live are.
The only permanent member of the band is Tobias, he's the one who comes up with the songs most of the time. I don't say this to show ill towards the Nameless Ghouls, but that's just how Ghost has always been
Mal: On a scale of one to ten, how are you feeling?
Me: Fandaniel
Mal: ...
Me: ...
Mal: Do you want a hug buddy?
Me: Yes please...
The urge to become a piece of shit and give people a legitimate reason to hate me grows stronger by the hour
Me every time The Watcher appears
Me every time a new Ghost mv drops: I'm having a religious experience
