Super Smash Bros. Ultimate
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is a love letter to fans of the series that dates back over 20 years. Chose your favourite Nintendo character, or even third party character, and get to duking it out on the battlefield.
SSBU is a fantastic party game with your friends, have ridiculous chaos unfold on the screen, or take on the go. If you’re more into a solo adventure, SSBU contains a World of Light mode, where you adventure your way through a massive world, fighting the computer with tons of variants (everyone is large, the ground makes you sleep, and so on.)
There is so much packed into this game, if you have ever been a fan or the series, or it looks to interest you, you should definitely pick it up now.

Resident Evil: Revelations 2
Revelations 2 is an episodic adventure, akin to the original Revelations. You follow two sets of main characters as you progress your way through an eerie, dangerous island.
Everything about Revelations 2 seems to improve on the original game of the series. The main campaign sits around 10 hours of gameplay, but the meat and potatoes is Raid Mode, an arcady shoot-to-kill mode.
At around $30 CAD, this game is certainly worth your time for the price-point, for the Raid Mode alone. The load times can be a bit much at times, but I think it’s worth your time. Note: this game is downloadable only from the eShop, and packs a whopping 24 gigs in size.

Totes the Goat
A smaller indie title, Totes the Goat has you navigating tile to tile, avoiding spikes, and enemies. After each tile is hopped on, you go onto the next platform. Three lives is all you have to try to get a high score.
The price is fairly cheap, and there’s enough unlockable characters to have you playing again and again to unlock them all.
This game is suited for a pick-up-and-play session here and there, similar to Q-Bert, Pac-Man, or other older arcade titles.

Xeodrifter
A throwback to Metroid on NES and 8-Bit style games, Xeodrifter has you flying planet to planet, defeating aliens, and collecting upgrades on your quest to retrieve a power core to your ship.
There is a fair bit of difficulty to this game, specifically saving your game is reserved to your spaceship, few enemies drop health, and no fast travelling. A few clever gaming mechanics will have you nodding for the originality.
The game is on the shorter side, but the price is fair. If you are a fan of Metroidvania’s and harder games, check it out.
