This was already a heavy start. As Freya spoke, Milo tucked their phone into their sleeve, pocketing it for another time. This was going to take awhile, and when Freya was this upset about something? The utmost of attention was required.
Truly, Milo never was a child... they just existed when the universe did. Being a personified embodiment just worked like that. Milo could understand the sentiment: the simplicity of a child’s mind, free of ignorance, limitations of reality and having the purest desires.
“Being empathetic is one thing. I’m an empath, so it’s a bit different. I can literally feel what others are feeling, hence why it’s rather difficult to lie to me.” They clarified, standing up and stretching. “Come on, let’s walk and talk. It helps keep your energy in one place.”
Walking through the woods wasn’t just for aesthetic photos. Nature calmed the mind, walking was the purest form of moving forward. Someone either needed to listen to themselves, or listen to nature speak. Another voice amongst the harsh ones in the soul.
“You have a lot to unpack, dear.” An obvious statement, truly Milo. “As for if I can help ‘unfuck’ you... that’s not really my place, but I can offer wisdom. Trauma is something that... how do I put this in a way that makes sense... it’s a darkness, a shroud of the soul and of self. It keeps parts of you away from yourself, and how you as a person cope with that absence all depends on how you’re affected by it. That’s what makes it unique from person to person.
“However, that doesn’t mean all is lost. You may be scared forever, or overcome it completely. What people assume is that trauma takes away parts of you forever... and that’s not true. It just holds it away, but piece by piece you can reclaim those parts of yourself.”
Putting words into how a soul worked to a non-reaper was somewhat difficult. Even for all of Milo’s poetic prowess, there was a challenge to it.
‘So, tell me: where do you want to start first?”
