The National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) has to submit NIOS Tutor Mark Assignment for Secondary and Senior Secondary level in October or April. Students appearing their class 10 and class 12 exams from the NIOS board need to upload their NIOS assignments before the last date.

What is NIOS Tutor Marked Assignment?
Tutor Marked Assignments (TMA) are NIOS assignments which help in enhancing the learning skills so that the student develops study habit and becomes a brilliant student. NIOS has developed many tools and strategies to help students learn and become a successful learner. NIOS Tutor Marked Assignments (TMA) consists of three assignments, each carrying 6 questions, for each subject chosen by the students. TMA consists of all types of questions i.e. very short answer, short answer, long answer and project (practical) based questions.
NIOS Assignment Work Format
Tutor Marked Assignments carry 20% marks of the theory paper of that subject. If you understand it in such a way that English paper is of 100 marks, then accordingly its TMA is of 20 marks. If we see the same in Physics, then its theory paper is of 80 marks, according to which TMA was of 16 marks. As per TMA pattern of NIOS there will be 6 questions which are as follows –
Questions 1, 2 and 3 in TMA are short answer type questions. Each question will have two options, only one of which is to be attempted. Each question is of 2 marks. Thus, all the three questions in this section together carry 6 marks.
Questions 4 and 5 are long answer type questions. These questions have multiple choices out of which you have to attempt only one question. 4 marks have been set for each question. Accordingly, 8 marks have been allotted to questions 4 and 5.
In Question number 6 there are two projects. Students have to solve only one of these two. You get 6 marks for this question.

NIOS 2022-23 Admission- Eligibility Criteria
Given below are the requirements that must be fulfilled by the students in order to proceed with the NIOS Registration 2022-23.
The minimum age limit for NIOS 10th admission is 14 years as on 31st January 2023 (born on or before 31/01/2009).
For NIOS 12th admission, the minimum age limit is 15 years as on January 31, 2023 (born on or before 31/01/2008).
NIOS Admission 2022-23 : Required Educational Qualification
Students seeking admission in NIOS 10th Admission must have passed class 8th from a recognized board or must have sufficient knowledge to appear for the class 10 exam. Otherwise, they will have to give a self-certificate that they have studied enough to be eligible for NIOS 10th.
Students seeking admission in NIOS 12th Admission are required to have passed class 10th from a recognized board. Students who apply immediately after passing class 10 will be allowed to appear for a maximum of 4 subjects, not all subjects, in one attempt.
Documents Required for NIOS Admission 2022-23
Students applying online for NIOS admission will have to upload scanned copies of their original documents. These documents are considered as proof of eligibility for admission in NIOS 10th or 12th. It is mandatory to upload these documents in JPEG format.
Here’s the list of documents required for NIOS online Admission 2022-23:
· Students taking admission in NIOS BOARD 10th or 12th have to submit their valid id proof like aadhar card, voter card, passport.
· Students applying in class 10th have to submit birth certificate for proof of date of birth
· Address Proof i.e. Aadhaar Card/Water Bill/Electricity Bill/Voter ID/Ration Card
· Signature (preferably in black ink)
· Recent passport size color photograph
· It is mandatory for the student applying for NIOS 10th i.e. Secondary course to have class 8th Marksheet /TC or self certificate.

We would like to tell you that the National Institute of Open Schooling i.e. NIOS Board is an institution of the Government of India formed to meet the educational needs of the students who cannot attend regular schools.
NIOS board is in existence since 1990. It conducts national examination twice a year: Secondary and Higher Secondary. The secondary level examination is at par with the 10th board examinations of ICSE, CBSE and other national or state standard boards. The higher secondary level examination of NIOS board is at par with other standard 12th board examinations. Almost all the boards, institutes and universities across the country admit the students of NIOS board for continuing or higher studies.

NIOS board is the largest open school in the world. Presently, around 2.81 million students enroll in NIOS BOARD at various levels of education. It has an extensive network of 5 departments, one sub-regional centre, 20 regional centers and more than 7200 study centers and about 1800 centers in India as well as abroad.

Students who want to advance in the IT and Technology sector can apply for the online ITI Learner Program conducted by NIOS. It is a 2-year regular course offered to the students under the Craftsman Training Scheme (CTS). Students choose to take at least five subjects. 3 subjects will be computer based subjects, one will be language subject and another subject can be chosen from other core subjects offered by NIOS.

NIOS Board Subject Detail
If someone is passed in NIOS board in five subjects, then NIOS awards him a pass degree. If a student wishes, he can take the exam with a maximum of seven subjects. The Nios board has a wide range of subjects; So, students can choose the subjects according to their own choice. In which they consider themselves eligible and capable to take the examination. The student can change the subject in the middle of the course if he wishes. Students can choose up to three languages.
NIOS ODE (On-Demand Examination)
The National Institute of Open Schooling also has a system of On-Demand Examination (ODES). In which candidates can take the exam when they are ready for it. Candidates have to choose the program themselves to take the exam.
This system was first introduced in the year 2003 at the secondary level and proved to be a major step towards flexibility and distance learning. This system of nios board made the total system of examination independent from the time limit.
Seeing the success at the secondary level, this system was introduced in the year 2007 at the senior secondary level. Presently, National Institute of Open Schooling conducts On-Demand Examination (ODES) at NIOS Headquarters-Noida and its Regional Centers and some Kendriya Vidyalayas .
Examination in a year
The examinations are conducted twice a year: in April-May and October-November. Students are allowed a maximum of nine opportunities in five years to complete their exams; They can appear for as many or as many subjects as they want at a time. Students who do not complete the exam in all of their chosen subjects within the specified period may re-apply and transfer their exam credits.
