I finally watched Project Hail Mary and now thinking of all the stuff I've seen of it online before that... Damn, my boy Carl really is under appreciated 😭

During a conversation about why Carl was added to the movie, I kinda brain without thinking rambled out “Carl is to show us the connection between Grace and Stratt because he’s the middle point. He’s Stratt but kinder because Stratt is Carl at heart but outwardly she’s been forced to harden. He’s Grace but more reserved to show that despite the circumstances Grace has remained himself.” and I don’t…disagree? Does this make any sense? Or does anyone else have any better ideas for what Carl brings to the story?

Why is Carl so splorpable?

The classic joke where Grace uses some of the Project Hail Mary funding money for candy but:

Stratt caves when they have to do another trip to the hardware store (this is what happens when you don’t get in your eight hours ma’am) and says Grace and Carl can get one (1) pack of twizzlers each. That is two packs of twizzlers.
