the concept of Nitara sounding that way on purpose…
Nitara Headcanons:
Since she is Romanian, I thought of this because she is a Moroi which is a Vampire ghost in fiction. Moroi are phantoms who leave their graves to feed upon the living.
Her skin is unnaturally cold and her skin is pale and she has bags underneath her eyes and her eyes have a dead look to them (because in old vampire tales vampires were undead and would rise from their graves to feed upon mortal men and women. Also not every vampire is undead and has to be pale).
In mk1 her mother is mentioned at least two times. Her mother’s name is Kasomira and she was a Vaeternian general, the finest to ever serve. Nitara’s mother died in the Vaeternian war, Shao Khan killed her (got this from their dialogue). I wonder what Nitara’s relationship would be like with her mother…I’m sure that their relationship was loving and caring.
I feel like they did Nitara so dirty ngl…she has so much potential :(
I love Nitara sm but there are things I would change about her, I may post a redesign in the future and change her story in mk1 as well.
For starters I would keep her as neutral instead of evil, in mk12 she says she’s not evil but is a hypocrite and does evil things.
Another thing I would change is to keep how she looked in mortal kombat: deadly alliance. In mortal kombat 12 her skin tone, eye color, and hair color are changed and I don’t know why? I would keep her skin as pale since she’s a vampire and keep her original green eyes and black hair. I have no idea why they did this with her because the characters in the new era kind of look like their original iterations but some don’t.
In mkda she had more depth while in mk1 she’s just a vampire who wants to get food for her people which disappoints me a little. Her character in mk1 wasn’t really explored at all, neither was her realm explored which makes me sad :(
Hmm ngl this should’ve been her default skin…while I like her default it isn’t vampire enough for me now that I think about it…may do a Nitara redesign. I wished she had more nuance and character depth in mortal kombat one, also wish they kept her neutral instead of evil. Also why is her hair brown instead of black…?
