Going Somewhere?

If you are at all like me, you just like to rez your boat, set your waypoint, and head out, making the open seas an easy place to navigate. With effortless convenience in mind, Daniels Fall has designed this lovely compass hud for us boaters.  Oh, you are exploring, and found a really cool place that you would like to visit again? No problem. With a click of the compass, you select a waypoint, and your on your way.  

The compass sells for about L$400 and will most likely be on Marketplace very soon. For now, sending Daniels Fall an IM should get you one of these sweet little puppies.

WHAT IS THAT ??

It's called KA-26 Hoodlum-A and it will be released sometime today at Honah Airport.  

I have not tested one out but Spurs Seattle, an Official AMOK testor, who had the Hoodlum rezzed at Hollywood Airport, started the engine for me. The startup sequence is quite amazing to watch. Aeon Voom brings this to you for L$1200. I am sure everyone will get one, as I will.  Today in fact.

SL Go by OnLive (Beta version)

Everyone roared when the Lumiya app was launched, enabling

second life citizens to actually walk around SL using a smartphone as the controller. The limitation with Lumiya is that all the resources allowing users to walk around SL, were based on CPU and graphic capability of the actual smartphone.  With SL GO, all the resources are pretty much server size, and your smartphone is just telling the server what to do, (move left, move right, do this, do that).  The play experience is absolutely magnificent.  The main drawback is that you are looking to spend about $3.00 U.S.D. per hour, after the initial 20 minute trial to get you hooked, and you Will get hooked on the ability to be totally mobile, and have full access to your second life experience.

Hopefully, the price point will come down considerably, and then we can all have full on SL in our pocket all the time.

Riding a moving boat while walking around!

Is this even possible? Did you just wake up from a dream?  It's no dream.  Ape Piaggio has devised a way to make this a reality in Second Life.  I would not have believed it unless I got to see it for myself, and I did.  As you can see from the video, I board the boat, walk around in it the whole time, and then walk off.

Our perception of facebook like and share on blogs..

These days, people search the web with a wide range of browsers.  Of course, there are standard plugins that one can install into their web browser, which allows an expanded functionality and media experience. Flash has been around for a very long time, and has become the standard for media across the web. 

Technology trends change, they get better, making our web experience easier and easier.  Adobe Flash, will probably be around for years to come, but I am certain that html5, which does not require any effort on your part, and is pretty much included in almost every brand web browser these days, will be the functionality and media platform of choice from now on.

That being said, We at NITEPRESS went on ahead and switched out our blog Like button to the html5 platform, so that a wider range of vistors to the site can like, and share to facebook.
