This view of a Rat Rod Deluxe really shows off the great custom hardware from @armadilloguitar. Brass chopped bridge and set of heavy knurled dome knobs, also in brass. Coupled with stainless or titanium saddles, Sperzel or Hipshot open gear tuners, and an outstanding TV Jones Classic Plus pickup and the simple single pickup guitar concept is elevated to a true hot-rodded monster. Sticking with the classics here’s a base model Studio Standard from a few years back. No whammy bars, crazy wiring, or Kustom Kolor metal flake finishes. This Studio Custom’s redwood body is timber salvaged from an 1890’s Victorian. Baltic birch pickguard, ebony switch tip, chunky rosewood/maple neck are all part of an active attempt to reduce my use plastics and petro-chemical finishes.
