Anubis - Septicflesh (symphonic death) man i listen to more death metal that i thought lol, anyway this one has been on my ‘black metal’ playlist (now renamed lol) for a while but ive recently discovered it and its now one of my favs. I should listen to more septicflesh.

Celestial Violence  - Ihsahn (progressive black metal) cant talk about metal without talking about Ihsahn. Love this man. This one is one of my favs! Great for an into into heavier types of metal, p chill! Hey Nix! you didnt have to write blurbs for each one! No, I didnt, but if you know me you know i cant talk about my favourite songs without discussing every single reason why (: and i tag anyone whos like me and has a primal need to talk about music lol. go bananas.

Animorphs thoughts after 5 books

Finally read through the first 5 books again. I know for a fact that I did not read them in order as a kid. I think I remember my first Animorphs books being one with Rachel becoming a bear on the cover and that Megamorphs book with the tornado thing.

So having finished a book narrated by each of the main kids fresh in my memory, Marco and Rachel are the only ones I like now. I used to like Cassie, but uh she fails at science harder than she has any right to. Also she is full of terrible ideas. Tobias is a dick and kinda creeps me out now. And I can’t get over Jake’s bad plan in book 2.

And I’m going into this with approximate knowledge of a lot of shit (my memory isn’t great but I’m not going in totally blind) and taking everything these kids say with a grain of salt. 

Legit, first 5 books are only getting by, by sheer dumb luck, outside help, and the fact that no one can see and survalence cameras just don’t fucking exist in this world.

Applegate comes off as having based her writing on animals on info she got from children’s books and pop culture. She’s got an obvious bias in favor of big cats, raptors, dogs, and cetaceans. Dear fucking gods of the earth, the fucking cetaceans. SHe also seems to greatly dislike arthropods, sharks, and nonavian reptiles. Like this is some blatant ass shit.

As for the aliens:

-I’m disappointed that we don’t get any solid description of any of the other species enslaved by the yeerks.

-It makes no fucking sense for sense freaks like the yeerks to waste the time and resources in actively wreaking a conquered world’s biome. That’s just fucking cartoonish and a lazy way to go ‘super evil you guys’. As such, I refuse to believe that’s what they do. 

-Given the pics of hork-bajir and the descriptions on them, there’s just no fucking way for Tobi to do any serious injury to the hork-controllers without getting a head blade through the wing or torso. Would make for a decent distraction but otherwise, he’s not really contributing to disarming anyone.

-The hork-bajir have long, presumably flexible necks. Beaks, and presumably reptile-ish head structure with eyes on the side of their head, given the head blades too. Blades only on their heads, wrists, elbows, knees, and tails. I’m going to assume that most of these blades can be tucked close to the body to make locomotion in trees easier.  Described as having ‘t-rex’ feet which are probably just birdlike, I’m going with owl-like for one of their toes being reversible to have better grip for climbing. And they fucking hop like kangaroos when moving quickly along the ground. Also very good sense of hearing but poor night vision points towards them being diurnal.

- I can’t picture taxxons as centipede-like. Not with how easy it is to pierce their hides and the fat, jelly-ness attributed to them. Idk grub/caterpillar like bodies make more sense, just ad more legs.

-The andalite controversy is fun, but none of the descriptions are consistent. There were a lot more eyestalks being described more as flexible horns early on. The tail is thick and held like a scorpion’s. They are apparently really fucking small like ponies/small deer and delicate/thin limbed. If they look like weird deer from a distance, it proobably means that their human torso like bits are slim enough to be mistaken as a horse’s neck from far off. ANd there’s more than one description of the place where their mouth should be as blank, and where the nose should be as having 3 slits... so the andalite jawlines are probably canon enough.

- Also andalites are fucking quitters.
