From this day in 2016 :: I've been holding off about a week or so from posting about this in my #Project365 but I don't feel like I can wait any longer. I know there has been a big media circus over a photo that Kim K posted of herself naked. As to be expected in our hostile society she has been picked apart by most everyone. Unsurprisingly by other women. Internalized misogyny runs rampant & has for a very long time. It's very easy to fall back into the patterns provided to us by the "traditional values" garbage that has been force fed to us our entire lives. Our society uses sex to sell you literally anything. When a woman owns her sexuality, is unashamed of her body, & displays it proudly she will immediately be punished. She is a slut, she has no respect for herself or those around her, she is vapid & brainless, she is attention seeking. The list goes on & on. Women are chastised for breast feeding yet stores display larger than life images of women almost totally nude under the guise of selling you hair products. I will never tell another woman what she should or should not do with her body or what should or shouldn't make her feel empowered. However, I have always been proud of my body and unafraid of sharing it. I am strong, smart, beautiful, powerful, & clearly modest. Before you feel entitled to tell another human being how they should feel about their bodies & what they should or shouldn't do with them check yourself. #NixMuse365 #effyourbeautystandards (at Downtown Pittsburgh)
