And that's a wrap on the semester! Thank you to everyone who's followed me so far (I just hit 100 followers on this blog! Crazy!)
Not to fear, there will be more! I'm taking senior studio in the spring semester, which is a continuation of the class I was taking this semester, so there will be a lot more art from me!
Here's a photo of all of the stuff that I have done this semester to wrap everything up!
Hello! I'm Niza, and I am currently pursuing a minor in the visual arts. This is a blog dedicated to my explorations of Minecraft in art, which is a central theme I am exploring in the classes I am currently taking
The overall theme in my Minecraft themed art is the idea of bringing the digital world of Minecraft into the physical world. I work in a number of different mediums, all of them being embedded in the act of physically creating and 'getting my hands dirty' (often times literally doing so!)
What you'll see on this blog is anything related to my Minecraft based art, including images of finished pieces and my WIPs, documentation of my process, and my own analysis of my work. I'll also reblog post that inspire me, or that contain ideas that I want to include in my work!
Tag List and Artwork Series Masterposts under cut
Going to start posting the paintings I did for one of my final projects this semester! There will be three paintings coming out of the queue!
Can someone remind me in, idk like 10 hours to find the file name of a screenshot so I can post the painting I did a few weeks ago
There are fun things happening very soon!!! Including a small exhibiton with a few of my classmates that we install in a week! So keep an eye out for pictures from that!
hi :)
14. Any favorite motifs
and
30. What piece of yours do you think is underrated
Hello! :)
14. I think my favorite motif is probably the idea that there's something not quite right. I think it's definitely something that is present in a lot of the work I've done, with the paintings I've done about funky world gen, to even what I'm working on now with life sized Minecraft, especially as I'm trying to emulate the vibe of taking the blocks and items directly from the game and plopping them into the real world!
30. I have a couple paintings that I think are underrated, and they're paintings where I went pretty heavy on the glitter & beads. The first is "Walls of Corruption", which is a painting that I had a lot of fun making and is depicting the result of a superflat world losing the superflat tag, so it corrupts the world and creates these flat towering walls where it's generating a normal world right next to where a flat world had generated. This is something that had happened to a world of mine when I was a kid, and I thought it was so cool so I had to make a painting representing it.
The other painting is "The Figure in the Distance", which is my recreation of the Herobrine screenshot in glitter and beads. This was my first piece where I used the glitter & beads, and I really went full send into it. It was very much an experimental painting, but it helped me discover that I really loved adding mixed media elements to my paintings like that
#8 for the ask game
8. What's an old project idea you've lost interest in.
There's nothing that really relates to my minecraft art specifically for ideas I've lost intetest in (I'm actually working on a project I've wanted to do for a while but haven't had the means to before now!)
There is an old project I found in my drafts where I was attempting to create lore for minecraft based on the various structures and it would have been formatted sort of as a history book. It would have been a huge project and I think I sort of intimidated myself out of it
