The Chair House of New Jersey. No one really knows why Mr. Lindholm put a chair on top of his house, but he also made the basement bomb proof- so maybe it was a lookout?
“I guess it is a little screwy to put a thing like that up there,” he once told a local newspaper. “But thank God you have people like us that will do it!” His wife Anne said, “I think he’s a nut and so do the neighbors, but when he makes his mind up to do something, he does it.”
The new owners have vowed to keep up the tradition. After the last chair blew off in a storm, locals became upset at the sight of the chairless house. They actually started dropping off chairs in hopes that they could help replace it. A new chair is firmly affixed and bolted down now, but they only last 2 yrs. up there.
