Itâs funny to me when some foreigners are like âI cannot understand why people ship NLIDâ. Well, youâre bule, of course you cannot understand. This is OUR territory of which you are not privy to. That the biggest shippers of this is ship are actual Indonesians ourselves shouldâve told you sth, and no, itâs not (only) because most people here love whites or something â we are not nearly like this about other whites by large, for comparison â but really it is because the Netherlands is intimately tied to our (modern) sense of who we are, for better or worse. Not all Indonesians are NLID shippers obviously, but I think all of us have internalized what I am talking about and know what I mean, to varying degrees. âBut Netherlands is a colonizer!â Yeah and? Netherlands is still OURS by history. An asshole, but OUR asshole. And in that there is love. Like, please donât impose your sense of morality on us, this is fandom and we only consult our boners here.

And this is why, for me personally, no other Indo ship would COMPARE.
